  12. It goes without saying, but Graham also mentioned that those riders involved in the incident will appear in a WP Cycling disciplinary hearing and receive sanctions.
  13. I can consolidate them. Send me an email on matt [at] thehubsa.co.za with the names and the associated email addresses (if possible).
  14. Just heard Graham Ward of WP Cycling Association on Cape Talk. He mentioned that the club has been given until 4pm today to come forward with the names of the individuals in the video. If they fail to do so the club will be sanctioned and it's members barred from taking part in WP Affiliated cycling events. Edit: NotSoBigBen beat me to it
  15. Mod note: Let's steer away from generalist comments like 'roadies suck', 'taxi drivers suck', 'motorists suck'. These add no value to the discussion and only seek to incite further anger. Also, personal attacks on other members will not be tolerated. Argue and challenge opinion, but there is no need to take personal digs at other posters. This discussion has gone relatively well to this point, let's not destroy it now.
  16. You're welcome to pop in to our offices in Westlake (Tokai). We'll also be at the Cycle Tour expo from Thursday, but unfortunately won't have changing facilities at the stand.

  20. It was left unchecked for far too long unfortunately. But there are still many great Hubbers all with a wealth of info to share. And with a concerted effort to clamp down on trolling we're already seeing an improvement.
  21. I've got a copy somewhere at the office. Will take a look tomorrow.
  22. Another bit of history is the 'couch photo'. I think it was 'RudeDog' who posted this pic in 2005 with a particularly "interesting" couch in the background. And so began the flurry of bike-couch photos.
  23. I'm the original. Since we're talking history, here is some insight on how it began: Back in 2003 I had the idea to start a Cape Town focussed cycling 'portal' called Cycling CT. As a keen roadie and computer geek it was a cool project to combine two passions, fill a gap in the market and hopefully earn a little pocket money with time. The site was to become the go-to place for CT based cyclists with news, results, event calendars, routes & trails, link directories and a message board. After spending weeks compiling various route maps, write ups and other content I quickly realised the content was a bit thin and very limited. Keeping it fresh and interesting for visitors would be challenging. In researching web design I'd come across various user driven 'message boards' (as they were known at the time) which focussed around particular niches. Long story short, Cycling CT was scrapped and The Hub SA was born. The first promotion was in the form of windscreen flyers at various Cape league & fun rides. A trickle feed of visitors began visiting and posting, but it was really only when Super Cycling restricted and subsequently shut down their own message board that we started to get some traction. Their shutdown was actually lucky timing and pure coincidence, but certainly gave The Hub its kickstart into online existence.
