Fair point Pantani. Look, James stayed with my family in the week prior to his Hour record attempt, and so we can say that we know him too. Back in '98 & '99 he was consistent, not the quickest by any means, but consistent. I saw on Track Cycling SA that he has done alright over the years (8) that I have been out of track. But, I do not know anything about his present form, or speed. So why dont you get on the track Pantani?? I'll organise you a bike... Still got those Zipps?!?!

Well, according to some of these posts on the selection meet over the weekend, He won the points race, and was second with Rabie in the madison. James Louter can go Pantani...make no mistake.

Hmmm...I would also like to know the answer to this age old selection dilemma. Did they compete in the selection trials this weekend? Why wont they send Rabie, Louter or anybody else??

Gary, you and I never raced outside of junior ranks. You went to study in PE? I stayed in JHB. I was more of a sprinter, won the occasional points race and such. Sheldon never mixed it old school with us, but he could go when he wanted to. At the selection meet in 99 he went from the gun with SHORTLEGS and they lapped the field. Sheldon was a very decent rider back then.

When are provincials? Is your wife not riding now Gary?

I agree. Its only a bicycle race at the end of the day. Some of the best memories I have are from those days, both off & on the bike!! What was your mates name again?? The Italian guy?? I loved him!! Remember that night at Joe Cools when Chunky drank 65shooters, and all those guys wanted to kill us?!?! Why not?? I'm trying to get something going again, coz the track is dead. My folks are willing to get involved if I get permission to put on a few events. ABE, I went to do the JHB GP in Nov.(first time on the track since 99) In the DEVIL, I said to Sheldon Bole "lets do this like we (U me & Norm) used too!" So evertime we hit the banking, I did my thing. After the race, I got moaned at for riding like a K#####... Its just not the same anymore!! If I think of that sprint final @ SA's between you & I, my heart starts beating dam fast!!!! That was racing dude!!

Either buy a Volvo station wagon, or aN ML500. You'd be surprised how many bikes you'll get in the back of both. 7 in the Volvo, & 5 in the ML... Guess that was pointless info...Towbar!
