  1. I like the idea of registered sellers and buyers!
  2. Ill make a case this afternoon. But like you said - he is abusing the trust and goodwill of hubbers....
  3. Thx. With the adaptors (R300 for a set) they are about R600. Think I'll rather try for XT's....
  4. I am busy buying XT wheels, and wanted to fit the Alligator Windcutters (6 bolt). Is there an advantage to say fitting them with an adaptor rather than Shimano Sm-Rt62? The Shimano centre locks are R200 more expensive (and should be a direct fit???), but I like the look of the Alligators...
  5. Ok, thx 4 the input - will look around a bit more and maybe get a nice set of someone on the hub...
  6. Ok guys, like I explained a couple of weeks ago, Im fairly new to MTB's, and bought something with budget in mind. Now I wanna look at upgrading... Question is, will these wheels fit my bike (I have a standard 2011 Merida Matts 100-D http://www.merida-bikes.com/en_za/bike/2011/190/MTB+Hardtail/MATTS+TFS+100-D). I dont know what they mean with the quick release standard. ANd how do you rate them??? Also, whats the difference between 20mm front & QR front wheels? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25902 Thx 4 any inputs!
  7. Ok, so I decided to save for a whole new bike, but from spending hours reading forums, I decided I have o go tubeless. So, I read the post on how to make my current wheels tubeless, but I guess just buying tubeless rims is better? I again just want something as a beginner. How do you rate these? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=59972#ProductDescription Also, which tyres is the best to go for???
  8. Any particular make, model? How do you rate this -> http://www.buycycle.co.za/buygear/cycling-pants-mens/anatomic-en-2-3-4-5/anatomic-classic-bib-short-anatomic.html http://www.buycycle.co.za/buygear/cycling-pants-mens/anatomic-en-2-3-4-5/anatomic-racer-bib-short-anatomic.html ????
  9. Hahaha- got my bike Sat, so only planned on getting kit Sunday. But woke up at 6, couldnt wait, so went out (in the rain) for a 20 min ride, with bordshorts and T-shirt... Got my kit after the stores opened and went for a proper cycle... Question on kit: guys at Bruce reyecke told me its much better to buy gel pants - but at that price tag Im wondering if its worth it???
  10. Dont think I bought the wrong bike, just think Im over-eager!!! Ok, so like I say, Im new to this, so dont judge me! - now the obvious question: Where do I start with. Thought of going for tubeless (what are the tyres, rims etc too look for. Do all the rims fit the same (26"). What is the main thing to look for on rims - weight, material etc)?
  11. Thx 4 all the inputs - think ill do some small upgrades (tubeless etc), but save on the side and buy a complete bike
  12. Hi guys, So Im brand new to MTB, got my bike the weekend (bought a 2011 Merida Matts 100) and took it for a ride yesterday. SO Im totally hooked - now Im allready shopping around for new things. So...... my question is: Is it better to upgrade the parts as I go on, or to save and buy a better bike with all the bells and whistles? I was keen on starting with a top of the range fork, but Im afraid it might be a waist because of the frame. And maybe it doesnt fit the next frame? Thx
