  1. Thx teardrop, I did that and will fall in with them tomorrow. Weight Weenie, youve got a pm...
  2. Thx Caad4! I have however started thinking if it is worth it... I actually really like my Silverback, and dont know if it is neccesary to get a dual susser? O yes, also found this: http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/specializeds-2011-mountain-bikes-epic-camber-and-more-26771/
  3. I currently ride a 2011 Silverback Surplus 1. I really like the bike and have no issues with it... BUT I saw the Specialized end of year sale and now want to buy the Epic frame and rebuild all my components onto this? Do you reckon its a good idea or should I rather stay with my carbon hardtail? Also, would you buy the 2010 or 2011 (R4k more) frame?
  4. Think it will grow on me....

Anyone here planning on doing a ride in Harties/Pta this Saturday..? Wanna get a nice long (3 hrs) ride in before tapering next week...
  7. Woohoo!!! Have a great year!
  8. I was actually thinking of varying my grip to get a different sound and thus warrant a new frame!
  9. Thx, I will try the coin test tomorrow and give you the feedback. I have actually seen someone testing a frame like that for a crack.... Ok, Christie - I'll monitor it for a while and check it again. But you make a very valid (and obvious!) point about the cage holes... Ill check the position of the bottle tomorrow. If thats the case it wont be an issue, I was just worried its the frame starting to fail at this spot
  10. Hahaha, finally someone agrees! Thx Super Mario - let me see if that works...
  11. Thanks for all the input guys. No, its on the top, below the bottle cage. Im currently using Specialized cages... Thx for the repair advise. Ill have a look if it is the bottle. I also only use 1 cage so could just use the other one as well.... This picture should give a better idea:

  16. Thx Capricorn, hope your right! (maybe I should use it as an excuse to get a new frame..... )
  17. Nice info - thx!
  18. Thx MTB_Roadie. You reckon its safe to keep using it?
  19. Hi guys, So while washing my bike today I noticed (for the first time) a small dent in the frame - just below the cage. (it almost looks like a sigarette burn would on plastic... - if that makes sense )There doesnt seem to be any cracking around it. Its the first time I notice it, but I dont think its new... Is it safe to ride like this or what would you suggest???
  20. Most painfull break is the femur in my opinion...
