  1. Here is the little one, this has to be the best part of cycling for me so far. Seat is mounted on my first ill fitting cheap Specialized, but I have so much fun with her. http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o173/Kangawolf/92C3346A-65C1-4FFA-B315-AA97A381DB29-295-0000009D7E65F368.jpg
  2. You are 100%correct This is my last post in this thread.
  3. Still so absolutely unreal
  4. Use the Giant, my 20 month daughter loves it. Would love the WeeRide but she is just to tall for it.
  5. Lift me up the hills Great feat and I need the help
  6. Patents lapse corn flakes are almost 120 years old, hence the need to protect the IP to allow the inventor to make commercial sucess. So Kellogs a bad example.
  7. No the dealer services my car under the service plan. But then this is not about stopping at stop streets or car parts, but rather about fake bikes copied bikes, replica bikes, tribute bikes and now about Fakelys. If you happy to teach your kids stealing is fine, well cant help you there, good luck.
  8. NoName is the brand, surely its not that difficult. PnP are not riding on the Kellogs brand to sell their product but rather selling product that a manufacturer has agreed to produce for them. What they arent doing is selling counterfeit kreepy kraulies and calling them unbranded blanks.
  9. Ya you see here is the thing, its Mr Brands brand, he determines the price, if he wants to much it does not give you a " stealing is OK" pass Maybe you should try stealing them out of the LBS, it would be even cheaper, and its no less wrong.
  10. RIP great man
  11. I am typing this slowly because it is obvious you dont read good and stuff. Brand belongs to Oakley in this case, they charge what they consider fair market value for the product and the brand. You decide whether you are prepared to pay that or not, no gun to your head. If they charge too much or too littlle the go out of business. If not they make money, incedently the reason they are in business. Nowhere does this allow you to steal their brand, which you detest as they overcharge in your view, so why you would want to wear a brand you think os corrupt is beyond me.
  12. And this is all the reason that some people need to think its fine to steal others hard work.

  14. Nope at home, on my own wifi, paid for IPad. wasnt me not 140 anymore I lost 14kg already from cycling on my probably chinese made Merida
  15. I would imagine it how the different features work together more than one item such as base. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9NbAwIxlVP0/UHRz-ZhHZXI/AAAAAAAAuv4/naLRhR3cLP0/s1600/cokepatent.jpg Agree cans feel the same :-) Dear aptly named, it not what you or I am willing to pay for it but what the rightfull owners want for the painting, IP on the Pinarella, Levi brandname etc. Same as if I want 50 k for my iPad, sure its silly, still does not give you the right to steal it. Not exactly going to stand up in court and start arguing it actually only cost 8 and now this klutz wanted 50 k to sell it so I was fully justified to take it.
  16. If there are unique looking features that might not be functional but that does differentiate the product they could get a design patent to protect it. I.e. the coke bottle design is patented the actual shape and look, this is to prevent competitors to use a similar looking bottle, even if it does not present any clear technical advantages like required for a normal patent. Indecently that bottle is genius, you can give it to a blind man and he can feel he has an actual Coke bottle in his hand, you can smash it and give someone a piece and the chances are good that he will identify it as a coke bottle.
  17. Possibly, we use a similar process to protect some of our IP. The beauty is they are protected from when they lodge the PCT patent application + others. We can only keep it going for around 3 years, not sure how long Coke can do it if it is correct Also they do not have to reveal the exact recipe but rather and example of a recipe to prove the claims they are make re the product/process etc being novel and provides some advantage other than financial
  18. CocaCola spend more on marketing and more on distribution than on manufacturing, they had the gonads to spend on the marketing and make sure you can get it in most places in the civilized world, IMHO it gives them the right to sell cheap sugar and caramel water with bubbles at monster margins.
  19. China is huge and a large chunk of the world have moved production there, yes its cheaper, but a lot of it is great as well, samsung, LG, Apple, IBM the list goes on, and hell yes there are plants that make crap( and some decent) copies. 30 years ago we considered products made in Japan cheap and nasty, now Japan makes serious quality. But again the issue here is not the quality, it is the stolen IP from Pinarello.
  20. Oh just because it is IP theft, immoral, wrong and illegal, other than that there is no real issues. Sure it would be like stealing an S Class out of the showroom, driving it for a few months and if you like it you go and pay for it.
  21. Exactly There is so much innovation going on to assist humanity, in healthcare, sanitation, clearing up oil spills etc etc Sure only the wealthiest can afford the best technology, and there in lies the incentive to spend the big R&D bucks. But as a prime example look at the S Class Merc for years now they cater for the wealthy, but that technolgy filters down tothe lower end models and even to other manufacturers. Option C is great, it gives another brand revenue to be competitive and do their own development
  22. Agreed, Same thing, same as pirate music, software and images. In fact the sellers of counterfeits are the same whether they do it at the robot or online. Can you image stealing image files from our hubber photographers, sure they actual cost to produce is what they charge, but start adding a EOS 5D MKIII and a 70-200 F2.8 then drive to the event start taking their time into account and and and? It then turns out we are getting these thing for less than cost probably. Sure I had some pirate movies and music on tape, but not anymore, its so easy to do and get that it cant be wrong, but it is.
  23. No sweat auto co"wreck" can do that :-)
  24. Awesome awesome Me is going to die, but I is going to do it and I is going make it.
  25. This is something we call short sightedness. We have been through R&D, marketing costs, if you start buying branded or unbranded copies/clones/fakes/grey imports( call it what you will) you are taking money from the companies prepared to design these items. I regularly deal with a rapid protoyping company here in Cape Town who assist inventors conceiving, protoyping, manufacturing and marketing their products, they even rent office/lab space to the inventors. They do everything from systems to clean veg, fruit etc for food outlets cost effectively, you get healthier and safer food for you and your children. There any nanofibre spinning machines, overseas companies flock here to see the thing. Like them there are thousands of design hubs like this across the world making things better for all of us with the likes of water recirculating showers, 3D printing of organs, the list goes on. Their value is in the IP and it needs to be protected vigorously, and this too costs. So whether it is a wavy carbon fork, or a new computer program or something to ensure you get safe affordable protein we need IP to be protected or this innovation process will slow down and it will cost all of us. Sure in a few years that wavy fork will filter down to their cheaper bikes and the Dogma will get something new. By buying and selling copies of these items and cutting the companies that develop the technology out, you are stealing. When you get home and show your child your new bike and explain to him how daddy saved 80 K, you are teaching your child that it is ok to steal. I for one wont do that to my daughter.
