  1. So it's you that is keeping Darryn busy.
  2. It's the demo model that CWC was advertising. R30K off the price of a new one.
  3. Look at what Mini Savage got today. Needless to say, he better start performing to the level of his new steed.
  4. I am so jealous of all you being out there. I have a busted knee. Inflammation in my left knee joint because of some arthritis. And I am supposed to train for W2W. Went out for a ride to Rooi Els on my roady on Wednesday which did not help matters.
  5. Oh crap! I will have a look.
  6. Oh bollocks! Now I know why I am screwed. Lived just below High Level Road when I moved to Cape Town from Kempies. Only for 3 months though, then saw the light and moved to Houtbaai. I got fed up from chasing bergies sleeping in front of my garage door. If you could call a wired gate a garage door.
  7. Just upset that the last 2 races was on the same day as Spur Schools League MTB. So could not do them.
  8. Thanx. Guy at Apple concurs. BTW, talking of safety, looks like Sawstop has arrived in SA in a big way. Just saw a Sawstop Mobile Contractor's Saw at Apple. Same as this one: https://www.toolcraft.co.za/collections/sawstop/products/sawstop-jobsite-saw-with-mobile-cart
  9. So where can one get dado stacks in SA? I have never been able to find these.
  10. Quick question. What is the best/easiest way to make box joints in plywood?
  11. Sous. Ja, I also went whaaat when a Capie asked if I want smoor with my wors on the bun. Now I talk just like them.
  12. I find it most distressing as an ex-Vaalie that this braai draad makes no mention of pap en smoor. Or any decent smoor recipes. Where are all our Vaalies? Or ex-Vaalies since it seems half of Pretoria now lives in the Helderberg basin.
  13. My one son always removes all the relish from his burgers, leaving only the patty and the sauce. He calls it removing the aliens.
  14. Lovely. Hand cut or Jig dovetails? Not that it matters. Still looks perfect.

  16. After eating. She is almost 4 months old, and eats, like most pups, way too eagerly.
  17. You must look at it as an investment. Today, most old Olivers and Deltas are fetching very good prices on the second-hand machine market. Especially the Olivers.
  18. I currently have a very nice Chinese made table saw. Very nice fence. But the motor is underpowered and the cast iron tops ain't exactly flat. I have been eyeing that Sawstop for a while. Whenever my wife looks the other way, it will be in my garage. This will most probably be after I bought her a carbon dual sus 29er, and she is still feeling too giddy and guilty to notice.
  19. I don't like the Martlet stuff. As you say, they are general Chinese stuff that is just imported, and then overpriced by Rutherford. If you want a table saw, save your money or sell one of your MTBs and buy a Sawstop or Powermatic from BPM. https://www.toolcraft.co.za/collections/sawstop/products/sawstop-professional-cabinet-saw-250mm-3hp-36-fence-and-table
  20. I think Macro only stock the cheap Makita stuff, which is fine for most bakkie contractors. I prefer to buy my Makita stuff from Apple or BPM Toolcraft.
  21. SDS is the Bee's Knees if you can't afford Hilti. I looked at Hilti also before I purchased my Bosch SDS drill, but the price made my eyes water.
  22. Go Soft Maple then. Ain't too expensive. If you are prepared to pay the money for Rosewood as your primary wood, then the Soft Maple should be affordable. Don't be fooled by the 'Soft'. It is only very slightly softer than Hard or Rock Maple. But Poplar has been used for ages by craftsmen as a secondary wood without issues.
  23. Please don't. Beech is one of the worst offenders with regards to stability and movement with the seasons. Rather use Maple or Poplar then.
  24. If you get around to it. Please.
  25. I can only afford T-Bones steaks so thin, you can braai them in the toaster.
