  1. CSA having been sending paying for talented youngsters to the UCI School for years - how many made it in the pro ranks? sometimes talent isn't enough.
  2. like any other amateur / school sport - the parents pay , even for rugby and cricket.
  3. ja , they have the cape all tied up - no road events between 6 March and sometime in Sept that sif they can revive the worcester fun ride - now to conquer the hotbed of SA Cycling the Free State.
  4. at last they are thinking with their heads - this will be money well spent albeit 2 years late. the PPA should drop their awareness 'stay wider of the rider' campaign because thats all it is - awareness. its not going to stop cyclists being run over by drunken/irresponsible/texting motorists as can be seen by the number of deaths since the campaign started. they must rather put this money to better use by employing an advocate straight away after death of a cyclist to assist the state in prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law THEN MAYBE THE MESSAGE WILL START GETTING INTO THE HEADS OF MOTORISTS THAT WE ARE NOT FAIR GAME.
  5. i agree - the ppa dont cater for the roadies anymore and they were losing members to the clubs who have rides every weekend for just the price of annual subs.

    Rugby...

if heyneke is pleased with the latest performance then we need a new coach or a new team. is no-one bold enough to tell him that winning turnover ball and then kicking it up into the air is the way to play against the all blacks is suicide. does he really coach this tactic to his team. if so i woud really love to see what a team practise session consists of.
  7. if you have the time - report it. if the cops have the time and there is a van available insist that they accompany you to the address of the perp and confront him. sometimes the cops just love getting out of the office and being referee to an argument. i spoilt a parow boytjies birthday braai one sunday when i rocked up at his door with a cop. he denied everything and then spoilt it all by saying "i somme moer you right in front of the cops"
  8. so who is the irish man with something up his shorts ???
  9. GO READ THE FIRST SENTENCE AGAIN - THEN THINK A BIT. identifiable bike board will lead the landowner back to a name = if bike board owner transgresses, CSA ban. no bike board = a trespasser =prosecution. so simple if one just THINKS ABOUT IT
  10. you have one in the CSA - if all cyclist were licensed with the csa and clearly identifiable with a bike board for e.g. then any mtb'er found on a trail without one may be prosecuted for trespassing. if licensed and caught on pvt land then the mtb'er could be banned from competing. but hey ppa got their judgement.
  11. too far to drive to , too dirty. havn't touched my mtb for 3 years.

    Rugby...

they going to expand to Super 18 - aikona - they should be going the other way. they should make it smaller and more competitive/intense. the local competitions in SA, Aus & Nz will then become competitive, intense and exciting. we are seeing smaller and smaller crowd attendances in SA & Aus at Super Rugby it will only get worse with 18 teams and a confusing points systems to determine the winners of the various groups.
