  1. my apologies then..... we have had a few twits with earphones ride with our club and i have told them take out the earphones.
  2. and then .....ride away? ......have the guts to face up to them.......accompany them to SAPS or hospital?......in what capacity are you involved with East Coast Cycling?
  3. makes one think and wonder why all the other events are / were R200+ in 2015/16 - ja , i know its for fund raising - well cycling and cyclists need the funds.
  4. CSA having been sending paying for talented youngsters to the UCI School for years - how many made it in the pro ranks? sometimes talent isn't enough.
  5. like any other amateur / school sport - the parents pay , even for rugby and cricket.
  6. Dick , your **** are obscuring your vision - he said he can do blah blah blah , i said if you did blah blah blah. dont blame the CSA , blame ASG for not reading up on the rules.
  7. BS - you cant do SA's or Cape Epic on just CSA membership alone , if you did you were'nt caught and lucky to get away with it - entry forms state full domestic racing license required if you are in a UCI category ie junior,Elite,Vets. masters and u16's dont need full license as they are not uci category. facts man get the facts.
  8. ja , they have the cape all tied up - no road events between 6 March and sometime in Sept that sif they can revive the worcester fun ride - now to conquer the hotbed of SA Cycling the Free State.
  9. at last they are thinking with their heads - this will be money well spent albeit 2 years late. the PPA should drop their awareness 'stay wider of the rider' campaign because thats all it is - awareness. its not going to stop cyclists being run over by drunken/irresponsible/texting motorists as can be seen by the number of deaths since the campaign started. they must rather put this money to better use by employing an advocate straight away after death of a cyclist to assist the state in prosecuting to the fullest extent of the law THEN MAYBE THE MESSAGE WILL START GETTING INTO THE HEADS OF MOTORISTS THAT WE ARE NOT FAIR GAME.
  10. interesting - you pay R300 odd to ppa and you get nuthin you more bang for your buck being a Tygerberg member than being a ppa member - did it include the meerendal trails?
  11. here in CTown we also have to pay PPA membership at R325 per year - will no bells and whistles. if i do a ppa ride i pay up to R200 a ride. on the other hand i belong to a csa club - it costs me nothing to do their club ride and they start almost on my doorstep (every ride). the local csa okies - wp charged r100 a race and they have prize money on offer. the ppa comes up with a funride challenge - no prize money and they still have the audactiy to charge 200 bucks and the 'winners' will receive medals (just like the olympics) incredible value!!
  12. miss the days when teams werent allowed to merge and form bunches - now its a free for all with big bunches between odt and montagu, ashton to r'son circle to bonnievale.
