  1. I am old school, doping is doping, it is sad, but it is still stealing ... opportunities, sponsorships and public good will. Doping = fraud Fraud = Criminal and Civil liability I think going forward, doping should be criminalised or at least made a statutory offence in which affected parties could sue for damages, I think like what they have done in Germany or France (I think) ... I stand corrected. Doping isn't a crime of passion, it is a crime of long term deception with intent to get the edge against others for some reward, whether it is ego or money ... because it is obvious that we have people participating in our sporting disciplines that lack integrity, criminal or civil liability may get more to toe the line.
  2. I would pay good money to see more ladies only teams, it was fantastic racing. Loved every minute of it. Congrats to Jo for her magnificent climbing result. We will be back next year too. So much fun to be had.
  3. wrong post, deleted it
  4. Thanks Rolling Stone, we will be there
  5. Good day, Just a question, it the program for the track champs available yet?
  6. My rider and I will be back at the track come September/October to prepare for SA's. Going to be very hot racing this year.
  7. Liked the race, very well done for a start, was actually very well organised (barring results), however, racing for the licence ladies would have panned out very different if they rode alone and was not combined with the racing licensed men of whichever category. I feel these are minor teething problems, which will be sorted out in due course. Thank you Shamus for trying to put new events on the racing calendar, much appreciated. PS - I think the licensed racing groups should have a sweeper vehicle in future, it happened that I became the de facto sweeper vehicle, was fun for me, but could have been a very long a lonely wait for the racers stranded at the side of the road. Will definitely be participating in this event again next year, or any other events organised by this organizer.
  8. The middle one, looks like he/she might be on something, or maybe s/he is the weird one in the family. LOL
  9. I just want to earn my smoothie points oh and train for it, the incentive is nice. Have already reached gold/diamond status nearly a month ago, better half has signed up on the i-watch, achieving the weekly goals is not an issue for better half (super fit, super busy, super training), has got the toys required to make the weekly goal. I on the other hand do not have all the toys, I have HRM belt (suunto), linked to the wattbike (train at VA). Strava was my friend, now Disco is divorcing my friend and I am at a loss with regards to route to follow to ensure that I can still get my points (for my smoothie ;-)) after April 2nd. Frankly I do not have the money to dole out buy another HRM, or HRM-GPS system. So now I will just be smoothi-less. It frustrates me, because I like discovery and like their products, I like the training and I did like the smoothie reward. What I do not like is having to buy more toys in order to have a recognised device which will capture heart rate etc. I feel being co-opted, I know I can choose not to buy another device. Guess I will just have to buy my smoothies... and not be "rewarded" oh well *sigh*
  10. Don't think there would be too many non-licensed fun riders riding the crits. They are not easy at all, but a spectacular to see as a spectator. I read somewhere that it will cater for the licensed riders according to CSA age categories. Would be fantastic, I am expecting quite a few trackies to also participate in them. Fast and furious.
  11. She is fast! And very humble lady, classy to boot. Great future for our sprinters, now we also need to look after the endurance side of it.
  12. Congrats to DD for getting World Tour License and also getting pro-conti license to provide some opportunities for African riders. DD World Tour - not so much African Team; DD Pro Conti - hopefully will have a more African flavor.
  13. Just the bike for pride ... ladies on bikes ... lol
  14. Lola and Sebastian, they are now 10 months old, naughty as hell. Sebastian knows how to steal from the table without getting on the table. Stole my eggs, turkey bacon and toast this morning. My little naughty un-trainable dragons.
  15. Taken with my tablet phone thingy
  16. Sin Nombre! Now that is actually a lovely horse name. Love it ...
  17. He is beautiful.
  18. 3 sleepies then we are in Capetown ... whoop whoop
  19. Whoop Whoop! This years Omnium Champs is going to be a cracker, cannot wait to be there. So exciting. The ladies racing is probably going to be the most competitive in years ... watch this space. Ohhh I am happy!
  20. Great initiative, Marianne is doing great things for cycling on the international level as well as getting us average to middling cyclists to beginners on bikes. The CSA womens commissioning is doing fantastic things for ladies racing here in South Africa, also getting more ladies involved and racing. Thanks to the like of Lise Olivier.
  21. I hope the Tour of Good Hope gets UCI accreditation
  22. Basic obedience training, followed up with more obedience training, even my Italian Greyhounds have benefited with obedience training, our trainer said the big reason for obedience training is training the owners, not so much the dogs, they will follow the leader anyway. Attack training would not be a great solution for a family pet, why load a gun and let it free in the garden? Rather have the gun on safety.
  23. Read up all about potatoes in a bag, very interesting ... starting soon with my very own potato and herb garden. Whoop Whoop.
  24. Jack Russel 1 Mole 0, not a fair fight though ... jacks will always win.
