  1. Love mine. the ability to shift almost the whole cassette range when a hill suddenly appears around a corner is very helpful. and with the new twistlock that works like gripshift but for lockout you cant get a cleaner cockpit.
  2. Hi Use to have a Powertap Joule where the backlight would come on by itself based on a sunset/sunrise time determined by gps. Recently bought an edge 530. I see the device has a daytime/nightime mode where the background would be light in daytime and black in nightime. My question is: does the edge have a function where the backlight would come on whenever it changes to night mode?. Auto brightness only adjusts the brightness when a button is pressed before it goes of at the set time.
  3. yes. gradual climb. dont know the ondition of the road but iff you get a nice line you can "gooi". also get the wrong line and you might get a puncture. id suggest iff you are in a bunch try and move up when you pass penhill and you need to be in position when you go past leipzig cellar. 100m after that the dirt road starts
  4. still there yes
  5. @Cheabb78 oh dear. the whole reason i got it was because of power on the road and the smart trainer. just made more sense to have the same set of data then for the mtb aswell
  6. oh FFS.. Just bought a 130 plus for the missus and a 530 for myself. Then again i'm on my 3rd fenix and my brother also on his 3rd. funny how they kept failing just out of warranty and then we had to pay "half" for a new one. eventually told the guy its BS iff they expect me to almost yearly pay half of a new unit. on the other hand... Leatherman used to replace your unit iff you sent it in for a service. now you have to pay R150 just to get a blade sharpened. something to do with a business model that they cant sustain anymore and that we as saffas got to be knows as abusers of our leathermans..... BLAH BLAH BLAH
  7. Just bought a Stages (think its gen1, it was a bargain in my eyes so couldnt say no) crank for the MTB. Been using a powertap on the road bike for a while so i know my way around the usual Power data. My question is: Will the Stages provide new data ie L-R balance for instance? want to know if i have to set up my head unit differently for the Stages than the Powertap. Regards Calves
  8. have you received the letter that the bank must sign? thats the last piece of the puzzle iff it was OKed. otherwise it might still be up for review
  9. bought one of these https://indola.co.za/shop/mens/winter-cycling-jacket/
  10. thats the problem these days. seems like a lot of bike shops open up for the owner and employees to get stuff at cost price
  11. Just to pay devils advocate.. How heavy are you from your waist up? My bike is fitted by SPOOK. yes i do ride a fairly aggresive setup with my handlebars below my seat height. my fike "fits like a glove". But then i got fat. 20kg fatter to be precise. so the weight on my hands got more and i had to move up 5mm on stem height to help shift weight back onto my ass.
  12. Is the trail network open to ride on other weekends?
  13. With the new features this might finally be the computer is was looking for toreplace my powertap Joule GPS
  14. Good day My spokes is pulling through on my Powertap wheelset. Any idea where I can buy a 32/28 set? Its a training set so anything will do. Regards.
  15. Hi Anybody ever experienced their saddle clamp eating their shorts? lost 2 pairs now during lockdown. Besides the lose weight in your inner thighs comments i am really wanting to hear if its only me and if there is a solution to this? Perhaps a seatpost with a 1 bolt design? Regards
  16. Their bikes do look like a love child between Canyon and Cabal. With regards to trainers looking alike.... SAME FACTORY. The new titan racing frame has been around a while, same with Swift Evil twin. You are paying for Marketing at the end.
  17. To be fair, ELITE did the same with trainers also going 2-5k more when their 2nd shipment landed and the SARIS container is still in Durban port so we can have a look what their prices retail for when their new stock is uploaded. I think of the lot, Wahoo is just first to land their trainers with the new price, i think the other brand will follow when theirs land. I think the core issue here is there is always a hike in prices, but never a reduction even when all our stars align. the inflating of RRSP is also suspicious sales tactics that aggravates us.
  18. Resistance bands, a broomstick cut to lenth and LOADS of creativity. Changed my whole outlook on going to a gym
  19. The picture sums up their sales tactics. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/185213-rrsp-of-so-called-sale-items/page-4 Also started a topic about similar sales tactics after some clothing RRSP also skyrocketed they have blocked and reported me so many times because i post this picture...
  20. Worked for a certain inporter in Landsdowne... You are correct in saying all shipments is payed before it goes onto the water. We are being screwed with importers telling us they pay exchange rate on landing the shipment here. With regards to your Durban harbour importer, i have purchased a trainer from him due to mine having a problem that cant be fixed( emailed parent to confirm this), money has been payed and thus far he hasnt even asked for a shipping adress... PS.. to make matters worse, I was never informed that he does not currently have stock when he quoted me.
  21. 100kg on a merida 96. pedal stroke is much more efficient than with round. Trying to figure out if its suspension or weight or ring or just "normal".
  22. So the oval vs round ring have been debated over and over, this is not that topic. I have been riding oval rings for a good few years. Seeing how the mechanics of the oval ring work (increased power on the down stroke and easier to get over the dead spot) is the ring not accentuating pedal "bob"? I am on the heavy side and i run my rebound almost on the slowest to counter bob ( did a bike fitting and suspension tune) as soon as i ride district roads it seems i'm bobbing quite a lot. anybody else experienced the same thing of any thoughts on the topic? Regards
  23. Oval on Mtb and round on road.. Believe me you feel the difference. Started off with rotor rings on the road. the O.Symmetric (BEST IMO). Absolute black ovals on the mtb and changing to absolute black on the road as soon as the fiances lets me I'm 100kg and with a pedal stroke analysis we did(Daisy way coaching) saw that the ovals tought me to utilize more of the pedal stroke to compensate for carrying my extra weight Hope it helps
  24. So on the article on BikeHub's Facebook page I was playing connect the dopers.. I couldnt find a photo but bear in mind that Shan Wilson and Brandon rode Cape Epic 2005 together.. A little while later i receive this (screenshotted) from a certain offender
  25. LOVED Mine PLEASE just be carefull when replacing battery. Broke 2 of them this way. never seals again and water damage the next ride. other than that..... FANTASTIC
