  1. is your pulse OX meter on? it chows battery iff its set to hourly
  2. carbon wheels..... taken all the above mentioned into account here is my 2c worth. I presume you bought a bike and looking to upgrade parts? if you are looking at wheels i would save up and build a set of ZTR rims onto hope hubs. they are serviceable at just about any bike shop( if you are racing league this is important when traveling). even when upgrading other parts, keep in mind what is within budget to maintain aswell. a normal handlebar and stem option vs these all integrated carbon ones.. etc. yes a bike makes a difference and just like you i also envy those SPONSORED BY MY DAD laaities, but the reward to whipping there asses on a bike that is YOURS is way more rewarding. some further advice. i would invest in a set of resistance bands and a balance board to train balance and the whole body, way cheaper than a gym membership and you can take it anywhere and train. have a look at NINO and kate kourtney on insta and see what they do in the gym. lots of ideas on how to train off the bike can be adopted from them. have a look at an indoor trainer and a tainerroad membership, structured training will blow your mind. look at a powermeter, there are always a good buy on marketplace, that way your outside data will match your trainer data. at the end of the day the only numbers that really matter is watts and watts/kg. I am by no means a racing snake but even i cant ride without a power meter these days. have one on my mtb and road bike and a smart trainer for the power data. iff you did a ride inside for 300w for 30mins and you are sitting behind a guy and doing 280 YOU know you are well within you capabilities. but if you sit behind him and all you have is a 180 heartbeat and the taste of blood in your lungs i will also bond in my mind long before my legs fail I think there are more beneficial areas to invest that 6000 in before you look at carbon rims. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY... don't give up a team sport just yet. doesn't matter if you play E team rugby/hockey. learn the values of a team sport. learn how to win AND lose, even when it's not your fault. those life lessons will help a lot when suffering alone up a climb. i do more marathon style riding and half the time i am in a head battle in silence.
  3. Plus they have the option to send a workout to your garmin so you can do that workout outside iff you have a powermeter. Nobody wants to sit indoors when you can be outside
  4. I usually started off with zwift free roaming the routes until i got a fair fit of fitness before stopping my subscription and moving over to trainerroad. Trainerroad is miles ahead of workouts in swift and since they introduced the adaptive training its much easier. if i got onto the trainer in the past and i was not in a good mental spot a workout broke me easily from the 3rd interval. if you can spend the extra 5 dollars and you actually want to TRAIN and not just ride indoors its obsoletely worth it!!
  5. Hi guys. This morning while putting on my sunglasses my glove hooked onto something sharp on my helmet. Upon inspection it looks like the outer shell came loose from the "foam". What glue can i use to just glue the loose bit back onto the foam? From experience i know certain glues just melt styrofoam etc. Regards Ps. Helmet is a Giro Aether
  6. Just looked around their website. Safe to order? i am in CPT. The clothing seems nice but never heard of them so i am a little hesitant
  7. Ok so ita not just me. It seems to be the sentral piece of reinforcement fabfic running the lenth of the pack?
  8. Anybody using a CIOVITA Tinta with an USWE? It seems my USWE is not liking my shirt very much. The central rib on the pack is ruining the material between my shoulder blades aswell as the straps going over my shoulders. There was hundreds of Tinta USWE combos on the epic, so i am keen to hear your thoughts. Im on my 2nd ruined shirt now. Photos to follow
  9. My LBS just did a invoice type document with detailed parts and additions to the bikes with a price.
  10. Most probably why he pulled out with a concussion. He tried to keep up with her and ran out of talent on singletrack I presume. I also recall her riding the same times as the leading woman on days, and that was starting in normal batches due to her being a solo rider. So she was just on another level last year.
  11. If it is on an XD driver it could be that the threads between the freebody and casette is just dry IMO
  12. Bought a Stages crank. Worked for half a ride. Seller told me to give it in to Omnico to check it out. Omnico told me it was water damage, and offered me a replacement at cost. Seller then told me its still a good deal when taken into consideration the money I paid him and the money I paid Omnico is still cheaper than a new one. What should have been a R3000 bargain turned into a R10 000 "bargain".
  13. Perhaps a phenom white for R700??
  14. Recently had this with saddles. Shop had stock of said item but had to order in exactly the same saddle from HQ at the sale/online price.. A bit odd in my opinion
  15. Its so common these days. when doing a big of digging you can find the same titan frame AND Swift's Evil twin frame in south america under different brands. its a case of SELFDE PUDDING ANDER SOUS iff you ask me. Evil Twin Copy is a Sense Invictus https://www.behance.net/gallery/66932029/Sense-Bike-Carbon-Models-2017
  16. Both Sigeyi and XCADEY looks as iff they came out of the same factory
  17. Love my XCADEY. would never again use stages as I had to have a unit replaced with water damage and Omnico told me the units do "sweat".... WTF
  18. The pricing makes buying almost cheaper. for R6000 you are stepping into kickr snap and magnus M2 range
  19. Olbas oil is also used to open up the airways
  20. Training rides just got a whole lot more expensive!!! im on the heavy side (108kg) so very much traying for the calorie deficit but its a fine line then between calorie deficit and bonking. Most weekday rides are on the IDT after a day on the farm.
  21. So feeding for that would be 2x bottles at 700kJ ea with a bar and a gel for instance?
  22. Ok so as far as my knowledge goes as soon as you use a PM you ger your expenditure more accurately because its derived from HR. my question is in the picture below. do i still need to x4 that number to EAT/Drink for or is that = kJ??
  23. Been cycling for numerous years so not new to the energy expenditure on my garmin. After a race last week someone told me i should take the calorie count on my garmin and x4 it for kJ (because drinks bars and gels have kJ listed on them) I was under the assumption that our devices display a reading in Calories but that figure translates directly into kJ?? The question is thus do i change my garmin to kJ (530 has the option) but what about the garmin app, strava etc? i just want workalbe data without having to convert in my head the whole time
  24. Just measure your hand width when holding onto the handlebar. you cut your grip at that length and shifter sits inwards of that. so in order to shift you just move your hand onto the shifter. never hand an accidental shift in my life. also Extra chunky grips are identical in thickness as the shifter so no need to use the grips provided with the shifter. Will post a picture of mine when I get home.
