  1. nancy, men are turned on by what they see, women by what they hear. Not fair to generalise like that....some men are different, although I'll admit they are a small minority ditto on the generalisation for the ladies... young and naive women are turned on by what they hear, more 'experienced' women by what they see
  2. You have to love these forums, one can be anything one's heart desires.... even sexy and young!!!
  3. Tut,tut... why not a posse of "sexy things" on bikes to encourage you? That'll bring music to your ears.... (no need for car/convertible or MP3/Ipod) and there are plenty of us around!
  4. I'm also guilty when I'm on the road (unless I have company) Only listen on my MTB when I'm doing a REAAAALLLLY long ride.
  5. Very nice, but why is there a dog lodged in the handlebars??
  6. I agree Mudda, it would be interesting to see the same stats for Mtb. I'm sure you would find a rapid increase. Loook at Sani2C this year, hosting 2 events due to demand.
  7. Mtb much safer in terms of traffic and in my opinion more fun. I do all of my training/riding on the mtb and haul out my road bike for the big races (94, Argus etc)
  8. Thanks guys, I will heed these words of wisdom..... a sleep-in does sound REALLY good, come to think of it so does a big fat greasy breakfast. Hell, maybe I'll even drink Mojitos AT breakfast
  9. I have been training diligently for the last few months in preparation for Sani2C - building up to an average of 12 hours a week. I have really improved in strength and fitness, but this morning I walked up one flight of stairs and found myself completely out of breath with sore/tired legs. Should I be concerned? Have any of you experienced this before? Am I feeling anxious over nothing?
  10. SB, I agree, it is a pity. I used to commute daily until I was hit (or rather side-swiped) by a speeding motorist. I was fortunate enough to get away with scrapes & bruises, but my confidence took a serious knock and since then I have joined the millions of motorists that queue up on the N1 every day. I'd rather live to ride my MTB on weekends.
  11. Ahhh come on guys.... why can't we all just be friends???
  12. I've only ever rubbed it on my skin
  13. I use Milko Balm for multi day events. About R60 a tub and it has antiseptic properties. It's actual use is for rubbing on cows udders for milking but it seems to do the trick - you can buy it at Dis-Chem
  14. Popeye, the last thread about weight was actually meant for you... I don't know how it ended up in the general forum
  15. You're right.. I've just checked and the specs reveal that the added weight is actually less than 100g
  16. Chances are good with this weather that I'll need a spare hanger! I have completed a Sabie Experience with a 1.5l bladder; with at least 3 waterpoints on the stage races I'm not too concerned about running out of liquids...... the question is: is it better to have just the right capacity or a little extra (just in case)???
  17. If I'm not mistaken, the Magic is the woman's version of the Mule. I'm worried about having too much unnecessary packing space and therefore added kg's on my back. I keep all my spares in a saddlebag
  18. I am currently using CB's Charm (woman specific - very small) and want to upgrade to something a bit bigger for Sani2C (more packing space & liquid capacity) I think that the M.U.L.E. might be overkill, but quite like the Lobo and the Magic. I am torn between the 2 and could really use some advice
  19. OMG!!!!... how will I know whether or not I have a chainwheel protector??!!! What does it look like??? is it big and ugly??
  20. I removed my plastic thingy when I noticed that people were pointing and whispering to each other at the races. At first I thought I had toilet paper stuck to my shoe, but then a friend diplomatically pointed out that I don't need a frisbee on my back wheel..... needless to say, people don't point and stare anymore. I have been redeemed.
  21. I'm soooo envious. I couldn't make Sabie this year but am busy training for Sani, so January will also be a big training month. Let me know if you want to hook up when you get back. Enjoy Sabie!! I believe this year is a completely new experience with brand new routes. Day two has apparently become stage one !! Have you done Sabie before?
