  1. I had the same problem for months! Pain on the inside of my right knee while my left knee was fine. I played around with cleat position and raised my saddle by a few mm. My bike fit was perfect before and I never had any problems, so I'm guessing my cleat alignment must have just gone off a bit after a while. I haven't had any pain or issues since. So I would start there. Good luck. Ride safe!
  2. Yeah, I used to order off AliExpress a lot in the past but the shipping has gotten out of control. Then when your package FINALLY arrives in SA uncle SARS will be waiting for you at collection. They have some weird way of calculating taxes, you never really know how much you're going to pay until you get there, so you cant really budget accurately.
  3. Have you seen what they charge on shipping? Hold onto your hat.
  4. The reason it's the best "Gravel bike" is because it's ACTUALLY still a MTB These builds are known as "Drop bar MTB's" Personally, I think they look cool!
  5. Oh cool! I just realized I actually have two jerseys from this brand, and I’m really happy with them! I love that they’re completely unbranded! just clean, plain jerseys that get the job done. I’ve added a few pics of my Ykwybike jersey so you can check out the material and stitching for yourselves.
  6. Hey @dbotha No problem! The jerseys and bibs are true to size, but I’d recommend taking your measurements before ordering just to double check. I personally went one size down in the jersey (size S) because I prefer a tighter, race-style fit even though the medium would’ve fit just fine. For the bibs, I stuck with my usual size according to the chart (M), and they fit perfectly. For reference, I’m 178 cm tall and 83.5 kg. Hope that helps!
  7. Howdy, I received two pairs of Donen bibs on October 9th, and they’ve been my main training rotation ever since. I also ordered two Shbeik jerseys about a month before that, and they’ve held up just as well, I’m really happy with both. In addition, I picked up two long-sleeve Donen jerseys, which I wear over a short base layer for early morning rides until it warms up. I’ve tried several other brands and returned most of them due to disappointing quality or durability. From now on, I’ll be sticking with Donen and Shbeik, they’ve definitely earned my trust. Edit: Shbeik*
  8. Looks alright. You get the dual bottle cage too. I'm not into time trials or triathlon so I can't really comment, but from a design and material stand point it looks okay. Order it and check it out. You can always return it if it's junk.
  9. My condolences to his family and friends. I just want to take a quick moment to remind the cycling community (particularly the ladies) that self-defense tools exist and can be used to stop these animals. I promise you, nobody keeps coming at you once they’ve been maced in the face or stands up again after being tasered. That said, as a 38 year old male, I never leave the house without a 120 ml can of Force pepper spray and a taser gun in my back pocket of my cycling jersey. Use what's available to us guys. You can’t tell me you’re too old to point and pull a trigger or press an aerosol nozzle. If you’re caught unarmed, it’s on you, I’m sorry. This is Africa. It is what it is. I'll rather go down swinging knowing I tried to defend myself, than roll over and become another victim. Stay alert and stay safe out there. 10. I’ve ordered quite a few things from TEMU, and honestly, I have no complaints so far. The Donen brand, in particular, makes some solid cycling gear IMO. My thinking is: I’m going to sweat in this stuff, so there’s no point spending R2,000+ on premium lycra for everyday rides when I can get something pretty close in quality for a fraction of the price. So far, I’ve bought bibs, jerseys, gilets, and sunnies from TEMU, and I’m really happy with all of it. I ride around 300 km a week fully kitted out in TEMU gear, and it’s held up perfectly well. For longer weekend rides (100 km+) and races, I still wear my “expensive kit,” but for training, the TEMU gear does the job just fine. Overall, I’d say TEMU is great for cycling apparel (If you know what to buy). That said, I wouldn’t buy bicycle parts from there just yet, at least not until they start carrying reputable brands like Shimano and the like. Edit: I’ll also add that I’ve had no issues with returns. Once I log a return on the app, the courier usually collects it the next day, sometimes even the same day. There are no return fees either, so if you’re not happy with the item quality, just send it back and they’ll credit you. In fact, if the item’s value is under about R50, they usually just credit you without even asking for the item to be returned!
  11. Hi, I’m looking to join a local group ride in or around the Lorraine area. I’m a 38-year-old road cyclist who usually rides solo during the week, but I’d love to tag along for longer rides (100 km+) on Saturdays or Sundays. Thanks!
  12. I’ve noticed that a number of bikes listed on Bikemarket.co.za have the wrong model years. They’re almost always listed as being newer than they actually are. Last year I bought a bike from them advertised as a 2020. Only later, after doing some research, I discovered it was actually a 2016. When I confronted Bikemarket about it, they apologized and referred me to their website disclaimer, where they state they "cannot guarantee the year model of their bikes." I’m currently in the market for another bike, and once again I’ve found that every model I’ve been interested in so far has the wrong year listed. At this point, I can’t tell if this is a coincidence, a recurring mistake, or simply part of how they operate. It feels far too easy for them to hide behind their policy and avoid accountability. I can’t help but wonder how many other buyers have been caught out the same way.
