  1. Hey heyyou, I'm sure there's more than just a couple on this forum, that will gladly help you with that addiction ... so is there a Nago 58/59 frame taking up more than it's fair share of space in that hanger?
  2. Back brake also mechanical, with mech just behind BB
  3. Heavy maybe, but not necessarily slow ... I have the scars to prove it (once on/off a black with gold pin-striped equivalent)
  4. Just be sure to check what the shipping costs will be ... they differ dramatically for the same item! Here's an alternative for you, with what looks like a reasonable transport component: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1pr-GENUINE-SHIMANO-105-AERO-BRAKE-LEVER-RUBBER-HOODS-black-RSX-R400-/390681253468?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item5af66ad65c
  5. Yip - no problems (using the silver Polar IR adaptor) ... using Windows 8 and running 64 bit.
  6. Can't speak from experience here, since I use the silver Polar IR adaptor ... but my suggestion would be to unplug your new Sigmatel IR adaptor, then ensure you've done an Uninstall of the Polar USB software that you installed via the Zip file. Reboot the PC (that will reset all USB ports), then plug in the new IR adaptor, wait 'till it's recognized by your PC, then start Polar ProTrainer and try to connect to your watch again. Good luck.
  7. Same groupset and similar frame finish ...
  8. Thanks to the white pedals, you now have license to go a number of ways (but in my opinion, one of those ways would include choosing a different colour saddle), but the bar tape and saddle need to match.
  9. The white IR adaptor (connects via its own cable to USB port) is not supported in Windows 7, as far as I know
  10. That's just beautiful ... wondering if the pic was taken in your garage - coffee at hand for those late nights tinkering
  11. You might have seen my recent unfortunate experience in Rant 'n Rave, of having my car broken into while riding the Hoogenkraal trail. So I had to install Polar ProTrainer on the new laptop ... running Windows 7 of course. I still have the silver Infra Red dongle from Polar, for my S720 HRM. Of course, Windows 7 didn't find the necessary drivers and the Polar drivers I have for Windows XP are not compatible with a 64bit operating system. So here's how I got it to work: Plugging the STIR42xx adaptor into the USB port, generated a message to the effect that drivers were not successfully installed. I then opened the new icon in the Notification Area (right hand side of Task Bar), which appeared to have a paper clip over the left corner. Hovering over it, popped up an info box, indicating the same message as previously mentioned. Clicking on that icon, opened a window, which offered a button with the option to Change Settings ... which I did and selected the (recommended) radio button to allow Windows to select the best driver. Windows scanned the web for a while, but found a suitable driver, automatically installed it and my IR device is a worker!!!
  12. Similar thing happened at Hoogenkraal trail last week Thursday ... got back to my car just before sunset, to find it had been broken into (also through side window). When I reported the incident at the Durbanville police station, I was told this was the second break-in being reported for the same parking area that day!!! I spoke to a friend, who had left the parking about 15 minutes before I got back down to my car. He mentioned that there had been a lot of activity, with riders packing up, etc. so these guys have to be watching the place, to pull off the deed without being noticed.
  13. But I thought you built that up already?
  14. Nope - I have one mounted on a Thompson Masterpiece (not retro) ... as you say, the rails don't line up exactly, but "gentle persuasion" as you tighten the clamp bolt has had no adverse effect :-)
  15. That last photo, with the blue and yellow Colnago forces the question ... are you selling and if so, what's the frame size?
  16. And mounted appropriately, can transform a room ...
  17. I rode an identical bike (except black instead of green) occasionally, while still in school (belonged to my Dad). But the ride was so different to my 3-speed at the time, that I'd sometimes straddle the "big bike" ... and those mechanical brakes were rock solid.
  18. That looks beautiful ... please supply some details on the technique used.
  19. If you aren't near the Mother City and can wait a coupla weeks, they're available on Flea Bay (less than $6 shipping) http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-COTTER-PIN-FOR-VINTAGE-BICYCLE-WITH-COTTERED-CRANKS-/150772782578?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item231ac215f2 or http://www.ebay.com/itm/Cotter-Pin-for-Vintage-Bicycles-w-Cottered-Cranks-9-5-/360258101791?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item53e10e621f
  20. Thanks DJR ... what will you be on?
  21. Thanks for all the positive comments fellas.
  22. Those are clinchers ... but have to say, them Evo's have the nicest feel of any clinchers I've ridden on
  23. Completed this project recently ... Colnago Master BiTitan - probably about 1992 vintage. Originally built up with a mix of components left over from previous bike upgrades, but have finally been able to get everything to DA7400, rolling on Wolber rims.
  24. Have a closer look ... the 3rd rider is not grabbing a shirt
  25. Don't think that comment is fair to the 3rd and 4th fellas in the pic, who are actually both pushing ... while Robbie pulls (proper team-work).
