Everyone, My colleague who entered the 55km 94.7 MTB has come down with a nasty case of flu or symptoms and unable to ride. If any is keen for a 55km entry please PM me - I will give you his details ( if it's not to late for substitutes - I have no idea ) I myself have entered the 55km but I'll only do the 25km - so anyone to swap also PM me.

Dunkeld Cycles are Cannondale dealers. They should be able to help and their reputation is excellent.Avoid Tour De Frans cycles. Not happy with their version of a 'Full service'. Will try Dunkeld with my Cannondale service next time.

Are you planning to do the build yourself or take all the components + frame to an LBS to transfer or build?

I can't really see from the pic. Just make sure that this model has the reinforced piece on the top tube where it meets the head tube. My mate just had a 2007 model, it snapped completely (He's 9x Kg's). Got a replacement and the new one had this reinforcement piece which indicates it was a weakness on the previous frame he had.

Yes you can, but not sure the way we did it was correct - we just continued from Paulshof/Witkoppen over the road down to Sunninghill and met a guy who had a key for the bottom gate. There is a large gate right at the bottom if you follow the 'Spruit. He opened it for us, and we rode through the Leeukop prison grounds until we got through to Kyalami. Must be another way but we were lucky.

There is a small MTB route inside Sparkling Waters area - but if you want to venture out with the brave, as you exit Sparkling Waters gate, turn right, follow the tar. At the stop turn right, follow the tar until you see a sign UTOPIA, should be the first dirt road on the right. Follow that road uphill for ~5km until your legs burn but you will eventually get to the top of Breedts Nek - it's a spectacular view from there and a real achievement! You can also try riding to Mountain Sanctuary - there is an MTB route there or for a real excellent ride but you have to drive I reckon to Van Gaalens

This thread is making me very nervous. Been a CycleSure client but never claimed. Now I got doubts - do I need to chain my bike to a 140mm mast-pole, electrify my garage door and leave my mother-in-law outside before I get paid out ? I need to phone them to quell my fears

Gumbo was a website. Gumbo was loved and updated regularly and visited on the odd occasion until it seems Gumbo got sick by those nasty Internet bugs. I didn't have a close relationship with Gumbo so I can't really say more than that. We hope Gumbo gets better.

HiNormally I don't store it longer than overnight. Never tried it longer than that. Pepto Pro works excellent with Cytomax. Been using the combo for 3 years or so now. No gas, bloat, long endurance, sustained energy as long as you sip a mouthful every 15 - 20 minutes or so. Worls best for me.
