  1. Thing is.. on CRC the 2013 SLX costs more than the 2012 XT
  2. Eish!! 12mb is a bit big for my mail.. If you could drop box it i would appreciate it though
  3. I was just about to start a very similar thread. Maybe I'll just piggyback on this one I've basically narrowed it down to: 1. Formula RX with 1piece rotors 2. XT M785's with ice tech rotors I can get these 2 for about the same price on CRC. At the moment I'm leaning towards the XT's as they have more features for the price, but are they as good as the Formulas WRT feel and power? The next problem is that for not too much more, I can get a set of Hope M4's, which I know is overkill for me - but the porno factor is very high Thoughts and opinions welcome...
  4. So far. Just mailed a collegue, but chances of him joining at this late stage is slim..
  5. Sweet, I'm gonna book one of those lights if you dont mind.
  6. Huh? Theres plenty carbon forks on the market!
  7. Cool, where are we gonna meet up then?
  8. This sounds awesome!! 12km/h ave speed, I can do that The more technical the better, and if there are some fast downhill sections that would be cool to. I"m planning to ride tomorrow after work (about 16h00) so if you guys are available let me know, would be awesome to ride with you..
  9. Thanks for the advice, would be cool to ride with you, just bear in mind I'm SLOW!!! and I need to get a light ...
  10. Hahaha. Thats not a good thought
  11. I'm keen to go for a ride on the spruit after work. Being a spruit virgin, I would appreciate some advice: 1. Is it safe to ride alone, or should I rather get a buddy or two to ride with? 2. Where are some good spots to park at as a base? All replies greatly appreciated
  12. Huh??? I have strava on my iphone, but I dont see how it would have helped prevent me getting chain cleaner on my brakes?
  13. Interesting! I think they are sintered, but I'm not sure. They are Juicy 3's.
  14. Yeah, will do. It would suck to put those nicely cleaned, or brand new pads on, only to re-contaminate them with dirty disks.
  15. Thanks for all the replies. I will try your solutions, starting with the easiest first, and see how far I get before my patience runs out Failing that I will take braailegend's advice and chuck the pads...
  16. So the other day I was bust cleaning my chain with muc off chain cleaner. As a beginner with spray on chain cleaner, I inadvertantly got some on my rotor, which then transferred onto the pads. I have tried cleaning the pads and rotor with petrol, but i still have f#&k all braking power on the rear. My question is: is there a way to remedy this, or do I need to replace the pads? would appreciate any advice..
  17. Now thats a whole other discussion I have my left foot foward
  18. I agree. I just found it strange that being used to riding motorbikes, I would be more comfortable with my MTB setup the opposite - always interesting to hear other peoples opinions.
  19. So normal bike setup is left for the front, and right for the rear. Now I have ridden motor bikes for most of my life so I swapped mine around, but after a while I changed them back to normal, and actually prefer it this way. Now, it would be interesting to know, what is your brake setup? Normal, or motorbike style?
  20. I think trail runners should stick to the running/hiking trails, and mtb'ers to the mtb trails, because if not sooner or later someone's gonna gets hurt. Mtb'ers know which trails they can and can't ride (most of them anyway) so I think trail runners should do the same.
  21. I cant feel much difference with it on or off, but I can definitely see that it eliminates most of the pedal bob that is there when its off - so it does work.
  22. I got the Buzz rack from sportsmans warehouse, cost me R900 at the time. Good quality and easy to fit. can fit it to a hatch or sedan
