I have a pair ztr 355 with dt swiss 240 hubs . And dt swiss spokes . And the set weighs in at 1300g . And I love them . So get your self a nice pair of wheels it really makes a big difference
Keep the 96 and use the money you want to spend on the bianchi on your merida and upgrade it more if possible you will get your 96 as light as a hard tail

I am old school still rocking that 9 speed gears of mine . And to be honest I never used my granny gear .. And I stil have a 44.38.26 crank(I think)and an 11-32 cluster ... So I really don't see the use for 3x10 .. But . I think it is a personal thing ... And a weight advantage thing
I know the 1200D goes for 20000 at our local shop !! Scott and merida is 2 really nice bikes ... Think I would go for the merida. Because I know what I will get out of the bike and at this stage I love my merida!! You would not make a mistake going for the 1200 or 3000
