I will be in the Ceres area for a few days over the weekend and intend to ride Gydo Pass for the first time. i have checked a few websites but cannot obtain the length of the pass from the foot to the top in both directions or the average gradient. Can anyone who has done climbed the pass give me some information or indicate a website that has that information. Thanks.

AmirL, sorry to hear of your accident. Glad that you have no serious injuries. In August 2015, I had a similar accident near the Waterfront and sustained a broken clavicle and needed a plate in the shoulder. Don't despair, you may still be able to partake in your first CTCT. It is also heartening to note the assistance you received from passers-by. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

It is truly shocking to think of what happened to Daniele. I did a Hub deal with him a little while ago and the manner in which he did everything was so refreshing. A real peoples person. It is also great to see him recovering so well. I was also knocked from my bike about 14 months ago near the Waterfront, requiring a plate in my shoulder, so I identify with him. Recently also had a few close calls from motorists not giving us any space and turning in front of me. We need to keep being alert. Best wished for a speedy recovery, Daniele!

I have ridden a set of Darkhorse 38mm clinchers since they were launched in SA and have not had any problems. Still on my bike. Changed from Campag 11 speed to SRAM smoothly. Would certainly recommend it.

Our cycling bodies who have lots on funds need to take serious action against the perpetrators. Protest rides have not brought any improvement.

Article in today's Cape Argus about hit-and-run accident in which Randall February was killed near Thornton. Driver subsequently arrested and culpable homicide case being investigated. Condolences to his loved ones. Anybody know of exact location of accident?

Whilst levying the fines is a good thing, it will not have any benefit for us. The retailers are now all hiding behind the exchange rate to increase prices. Nothing really comes our way!
