  3. You must have finished with cervelo then. That was not the coffee and cake it was actually breakfast for the staff the next morning. Don't worry there is always next year. smileys/smiley36.gifsmileys/smiley2.gif Interesting alias, whats your tie in with SBR and club 220? PM me the details if you like, no need to 'out' you just yet.
  4. MichelleH, how about the M&B across the road from Hillfox. The cars will probably be safer (although thats not garaunteed) and it can double as the breakfast spot afterwards. First one home pays for the rest! smileys/smiley2.gif
  5. Hey, I am not coming if there is no cake smileys/smiley4.gif. In fact I want cake everytime we stop to wait for the back markers. Oh and if it's not too much trouble I would like some warm coffee to wash it down with too ... smileys/smiley36.gif. Methinks I had better pack my own ... Now I just need to go buy one of those waterbottle flasks at Cape Union Mart to keep the coffee warm.
  6. Thanks epoh but I am taking this weekend off. You sure about the date, I would have thought that the HiQ guys would be at SA's.
  7. About 200km's at roughly 36km/h. The balls in your court, let me know when you are ready. smileys/smiley2.gif (I can see I am going to take flak for this ... smileys/smiley18.gif)
  8. OK, my stomach is turning ... smileys/smiley29.gif<?:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I suffer with chronic rhinitis brought on by years of training in cold weather which has effectively burned the lining from my nasal cavaties. I use two homeopathic nasal sprays, Sinusan and Euphorbium depending on the level of infection. Sinusan, when it's clear and copious, Euphorbium when it turns green/yellow and becomes thicker. I also use Vinceheel for my throat if I feel the infection moving south (catch it before it hits your lungs). My rule of thumb is anything from the throat up and I continue training lightly, below that and I take the day off. All these products are available at your local pharmacy (or should be, ask that they get them if not).
  9. MichelleH, My usual route out that way is along Hendrik Potgieter, past Sterkfontein and up to Maropeng, turn left and you have a nice long downhill to the Magalies road, turn right and roll down the hill into the village. Coming back you have two options, go through Magalies and round to the bottom of Hekpoort and then start the climb back home either going straight up Sterkfontein into Mogale (Krugersdorp) or back along HP. The other way is back up to the Maropeng road but turn right this time and work you way back to Randfontein, past Uncle Harry's and back to Ondekkers. Both ways work out around the 120-140km range.
  10. Sounds like a good idea, what kind of cake? smileys/smiley17.gif I do like the idea of the Sun City ride but only if they are turning around and riding back.
  11. I stick by my hot tottie! 200ml Ginger beer (Stoney) 1 x tblspoon Honey 1 x tblspoon Lemon Juice 1 x tblspoon Brandy (make it 2 if you really feel bad) smileys/smiley2.gif Warm it all in the microwave and use it to wash down a grandpa headache powder. smileys/smiley18.gif
  12. The Dome, Northgate. You? I know SP and a few others meet near the Randridge Mall but I have never been out with them.
  13. thanks epoh. I wanted to get an early start so that I could get in a long run too and headed out to Randfontein at 6am. Thanks for the invite anyway, how was breakfast?
  14. Lido - Eikenhof. Not very warm down there this time of the year.
  15. I know it's a bit late but I wondered who in the N/W part of JHB is riding tomorrow and where they were planning to go. My usual group is planning to go south and its a little too cold for my liking down there, was wondering if anyone was going Randfontein/Magalies way tomorrow?

    New Bike

Looks like you are going to get that new bike now! smileys/smiley19.gif Sorry, crap joke but you have to try and find the good side of everything out there. smileys/smiley2.gif
  17. If you are running campy then consider the Bora's otherwise its Zipp's all the way. Even if you are running campy, I would still consider the Zipp's since they are the finest wheelset I have ever ridden.
