  1. Congrats WB, I am sure your chest is bursting with pride!!
  2. its a wrench who keeps on torqing!!
  3. Yip, when I enquired about Merida stock, Robbie told me that they do not have any more '08, but will get '09 in August.
  4. These guys don't quote prices...or am I just blind.
  5. Jip, I started peeling of stickers last night! Those things sit like sh!t in a blanket!
  6. As long as its working, theres not much wrong. I most certainly won't spend a few more grand on brakes, crank and wheels at this stage.
  7. Thanks man! Dont worry about your bike too much' date=' I had a Raleigh RC3000 before this- which I did quite well on, before upgrading to this. Look forward to your pics. Not too much info on Felts around. Be keen to see who all is riding them and what they think. I think Felt Bikes are starting to generate a bit of interest now... [/quote'] https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=26137&PID=418604#418604 here's my pics. I think Felt will start picking up, real good value for money if you ask me. But as I am quite new to cycling, I probably would have been this excited about ANY bike. There is just nothing else in this price range with these componets. And I got real good service from Bester Cycles in Waterkloof as well, compared to the place where I put my name on a list for a merida 903. They would have phoned me on 28 April to tell me that my new bike is there, I still haven't heard from them. Real bad guys, real bad.
  8. You are right Edman, its a FSA Gossamer Aluminum with ISIS BB with 50/36T Chainrings. Thanks velo and joevan for the tips, will keep it in mind.
  9. Shees, just having a quick read comparing the two shops... http://www.cwcycles.co.za/shimano_dura_ace_10spd_groupset.html http://www.totalcycling.com/index.php/product/parts_accessories/groupsets_road/gr7800.html

  11. My new ride...its my first road bike. Felt F85, stock. Very happy with it, already did 140k's only got it on Thursday night. I might upgrade the crank and brake's at some stage, they do not seem to be of either 105 or Ultegra, oh and a new seat soon. I only say this because it doesn't have a 105\Ultegra label on like the rest of the components. But while its working, I will not spend an extra few grand on it. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q30/OrangeRunner/IMG_4213.jpg Sorry, if you are holding your breath for a couch pic, it won't come! http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q30/OrangeRunner/IMG_4217.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q30/OrangeRunner/IMG_4219.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q30/OrangeRunner/IMG_4220.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q30/OrangeRunner/IMG_4228.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q30/OrangeRunner/IMG_4238.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q30/OrangeRunner/IMG_4229.jpg Sorry, this last pic was supposed to be rotated. Yes, it look dirty because I took it for a few rides. Now I need to clean it. FreakishlySlow2008-05-11 05:45:36
  12. Flippin nice bike...I just got my Felt F85(not in your league)....but still a damn nice bike. Will post my own pics later today.
  13. I bought a Thule Express 970 or something a few weeks ago. It pops onto the towbar, like its nobodies business. Easy as pie!!! Yes, the bike will scratch the car if you dont fix the pedals and wheels to not whirl around. But if you tie them donw, then no issue. Its a greta little rack, light and easy to mount. Ony bad thing is, with my polo classic, you can't open the boot when its mounted.
  14. oh CR@P!!!! I think the safest would be for me to shut up now. If I try to explain it might just and probably will just get worse. I'll look for the small lady riding in the one-small-woman-bunch without gloves and introduce myself on Kremetart and try to explain the situation!
  15. OK, so how many k's do you guys do in a week in prep for this race? It will be my 3rd race. So I have no idea what to expect or how I should have trained?
  16. Felt gives a 2 year guarantee on the frame. I don't know what Raleigh has. Raleigh: Too expensive, almost double the price of the Felt F85 Crappy color scheme, rally nauseating ambei-factor, every second schmo has one. I just like the look of the Felts. If I had 16k to spend on a bike, I probably wouldn't even have considered a Raleigh either. No offense meant, but its a personal choice at this stage. But please, keep the 2c coming!
  17. What do you guys think about Felt? Since a certain shop is giving me the runaround with my Merida 903, I started looking elsewhere for a road bike. The Felt's come with 10speed and better componenents than the Meridas. Slightly more expensive, but for the extra gear and a combination of 105 and Ultegra vs the Merida's Tiagra, I think it might just be worth it. I am specifically looking at the Felt F85. OK, send me you 2c.... Thanks!
  18. Done, really looking forward to this race.
  19. I got, in my PO box a week ago. It is laminated, but stapled to the race calender. So, there are two very neat holes in the lamination. So, I cant wait to see what will happen as soon as some water seeps in there. NO, I wont go and dunk it on purpose, but isn't half the benefit of lamination waterproofing? 20. I already phoned all the Merida guys in Jhb and Pta, nobody has stock. I'll send a mail to Robbie, maybe he can help. Thanks guys
  21. Just thought I might BUMP this up. I put my name down in a book at my LBS(not mentioning names yet) 4 weeks ago for a Merida 903, they told me it will be here on 28 April. Now, they tell me it will only come in August! I am not happy!
