  1. Good point Mecnic, thanks! http://www.evanscycles.com/products/gt/avalanche-20-disc-2009-mountain-bike-ec016366 http://2009.feltracing.com/09-catalog-international/hardtail-mountain/q-series/09-q720-int.aspx The GT2.0 has lower grade components, but it is slightly cheaper.
  2. I'm looking to buy a MTB. Finally! I have two options, Felt q720(R7000) or GT2.0(R6000 incl helmet and computer). Both "new" 2009 models. Any advice, suggestions, other options, opinions! Thanks guys!
  3. Anybody know where I can witness this breeze in a video?
  4. Its not waterproof, that's the biggest drawback for me. Maybe its splashproof, but its isnt waterproof. Do you want to take that chance on a R3500 watch?
  5. Yip, I agree with dougaroony, something seems fishy, send it in.
  6. It is a lot more than the average 100km entry fee, but I did pay it already. SO I am there.
  7. After todays event, I think Krrr also deserves a spot on that list!
  8. In the entry level, you get a lot more Felt bike than Trek bike for the same anount of moolah! Don't know about the upper end of the range.
  9. I got a Felt F85 a month ago. Got the 2007 model at R1200 cheaper than the 2008. It has a combination of 105 and Ultegra components with a FSA compact crank. Paid just under R8000 for it. Worth every cent.
  10. No no no no...the question to this answer is...:"what's up" Focus, please!!!
  11. Nope sorry, did you battery run out, or di you have it replaced? Maybe that can explain it. Maybe its not your watch!!!!
  12. Nice! I wonder if I can convince my wife to try out the tandem thing?
  13. So, do you guys all ride saddles with that groove\hole in the middle? I am planning on getting a new one. Is it really worth spending R1500 on a groovy-saddle?
  14. I still long slow distance, keep your heart rate in zone 1 and 2. Nothing above 70% of your working Heart Rate.
  15. I eat Enerjelly babies. The best is, take R50 with you, when you get hungry, stop at the first spar or filling station and buy what your stomach tells you to buy! it knows best! Salt and vinegar Chips, is quite high on my list!
  16. When I run, my HRmax never goes beyond +-190. When I cycle, I reach 220, within the first 2km if I try to average 30km up a slight incline! I am 27. Your HR is as unique as your ........ fingerprints!
  17. Keep in mind that your 50% HR is not (220-age)/2. 50% is in the middle of your working range for your heart. (220-age)/2 is in any case a very thumb suck and "bogus" value. I recommend to determine your HRmax by sprinting or spinning and see where you pass out. Once you have your HRmax you should determine your HRmin. Subtracting the two gives you your working range. Deviding your working range by two and adding the result to your HRmin, gives you your 50%. Any questions?
  18. I ran in the cold yesterday, but I sure as heck wont run or cycle in the rain!
