  1. Nope, I still think its selfish to claim the road for yourself. I am more a fun rider than a cyclist, but I go out of my way to make way for cars on the road. I will never ride in the middle of the road to be spiteful so that you can't pass. Again, thats just rude. Sometimes I even wave to a thank you to motorists who allowed me to cross a stop street first although they were there fist.
  2. On a similar point; On Thursday morning I went to work at 5:30am, as I mostly do, and driving in Nelmapius street in Centurion were a massive bunch of riders. They deliberately took up the COMPLETE left lane, no way for me to safely pass, given to oncoming traffic. I had to sit behind them doing 30-40 kph for +-3min, before they eventually decided to form a single line for me to pass. Isn't this just incredibly rude and selfish? Sure, by blocking the complete road you are more visible, but flip, this is a bit to much. Or am I wrong??
  3. near hits, you mean?
  4. FRIGGEN INCREDIBLE!!!!!
  5. Very romantic!!
  6. Us runners are such friendly folk! Well done for stopping, the BF\Husband does sound like a real @$$!!!!
  7. Count me in!
  8. Kick starting Boeing's and Oil Tankers in your spare time will do that to your legs!
  9. Very nice jonnow!! Just one question, the blanket between the bike and the couch, what is its purpose, to protect the couch against the bike, or the bike against the couch! I'll be getting my Merida in a few weeks, I am so jealous!!
  10. WOW, 15 years. I bet you won't find stuff that last that long anymore. They companies realised that if you make something that lasts forever, you will only sell one set\pair\item to some people and they will never need to buy again.
  11. 0.5 per month for 5 months, the last one will be 1L as final payment. Please post video of working tring-tring bell, I don't want any confusion of its condition!
  12. Throw in a tring-tring bell, and I'll take it of your hands for a very reasonable 3.5L of petrol!
  13. FLIP, I missed it as well. I hate it when work interferes with forum time!!
  14. SMOKES!!! Who said cycling is not a contact sport!
  15. I almost wet myself, absolutely stunning bike, nice couch too! Good luck wit IM, OR
  16. I have no idea. I am planning on keeping this one for a few years(Manangement will not allow me a new one in 12months) so I am buying new, Management approved the decision!
  17. I am looking at buying a Merida 903. I went to a few shops and teh price is pretty much the same. They do however have two different versions of it. The one is Red and Black, and the other one is only matt black. I can even see it on the Merida website that the show the red and black one and then have a link to "Additional Models" under which the black only one is listed. My question is, will both of these then be 2008 models, isn't it strange that one bike with exactly the same specs comes out at the same time with different colour schemes?
  18. Buying new things there is always the trade-off between money and quality. I firmly believe that you get what you pay for. So doing your research is vital. So, I went to a few shops already.. I can get Diadora Astro in black for R810 Olympic shoes at Sportsmans for +-R590 Shimano M075 for R790 What do you think? Thanks
  19. These wheels should only be allowed on St Patricks day!!!
  20. Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll pop in at Sportmans over the weekend and have a look and then make my decision. Went to Cyclelab in Centurion this afternoon, they have some Diadora's on special..... While I was there, I also spotted the bike that I want! Next month though! FreakishlySlow2008-03-31 10:46:00
