  4. Had the same problem after the Dash Solo last year, ..............end of the story is I am going in tomorrow for an op to clean the knee out, and then I will start training again for this years Dash. It cost a lot of manage if you have bad knees.

Hi Guys, it is quite tuff in the beginning when you start this new way of living and there is a heap of questions that is still unclear for me like: can I still use Hammer Recoverite after training sessions? can I use fruit like apples on training rides and races ? (2hours training rides) do I still need to eat a bit every 45 min to an hour? can I still use Hammer Perpetrium on 3h + rides? best fuel for endurance rides - 8h + Awesome!

  8. Jip , ons was saam daar!! Well done toe all the winners, seconds and every one that made the dash!! About the Desert Dash, I believe every one that have a full time job, and still do the Dash solo and made it to the end is seriaaas winners!! Wello done !!!!!
  9. Ya, did the 3rd solo. This year was very tough with lots of wind till 12h00 at night. Time 20h30.

  12. Yes, do it, ......it is a lot of pain, dust, wind, snot, stars, tears,gue and smiles, but the Hans Kolberg medals make it so worthwhile.This year is my 3rd solo.......and yes , I feel already the butterflies! Issssh, some people don't learn!!
  13. Sorry to hear, but I belief the slots were full with in 3 minutes, even the solo were very quick to fill up this year.

  15. Yep, I hit one on a nice downhill.....and woke up in hospital! Luckily only a broken finger and concussion.....and a cracked frame. unfortunately no Go -Pro

  17. Had one guy riding the Desert Dash last year with that, and it is flippen annoying to have these lights all over the show. it is very irritating to the people that ride next to him. Looks like a Christmas tree on opium. Lucky he fell of the pace quickly.

  20. Ok, Dash 2012 is in the bag and the Hans Kolberg medal is on the wall, and gatvelle groei terrug! This year was extremely tuff with heat, strong winds, bad roads, sand, desert cold, washboard roads and beautiful desert stars! Well done to the 55 solo riders that made it as well as all the teams that came through, yes, this one is not for sissies. Well done organisers, woes tuff, but lekker !?!

  22. I hit a warthog on my MTB on a downhill jeep track some time ago, end up in hospital with concussion. All the Dr an nurses had a good giggle, and all want to know how the pig is. Sorry, no Go Pro footage.....
  23. One stage my bike sound like a donkiekar and I had no hope to get all the noise away even after a big service, and then I got the advice to check my seat post, take it out, clean it and give it a bit of oil. 95% of the time I had the problem it was all fixed when I clean the seat post
