  1. It's not a difficult one... carlo_sg = carlo san giorgio I'm the guy on the Felt FC
  2. Hey, Was nice to meet you. Looking forward to seeing your top secret build
  3. Who took the win? Considering Stephano & Christopher crossed the line together. I presume it was decided between the two of them. South African cycling has been so exciting in the last few years. Fantastic Pics
  4. Must be that FELT Clinton is riding... Amazing pics as always Ronelle
  5. http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/ll253/carlo_sg/out_the_way.jpg carlo_sg2009-03-10 04:13:19
  6. WOW! Pickles, that bike looks amazing. Love the colours. But I think Matthew has earned it with all his achievements so far.
  7. get your LBS to grease the threads on the BB. Usually a clicking sound under load, ie: pedalling out the saddle or going uphill. Same thing happened on my bike. Some of the grease gets washed out when cleaning your bike, best to avoid pressure sprays in this area.
  8. Domestiquehated, No, wasn't me, I was in a blue cyclelab kit. I was ahead of that guy, I remember passing him just after the circle. It's true what you're saying, but I am very careful, and ride as far as possible in the yellow line. But this fool came into the yellow line on a straight section of road, which is worrying.
  9. Thanks all for the concern. I'm ok, just feel anxious about how it could have ended. Unfortunately because it happened so fast, I did not see the registration number or the license plate. There were some runners who saw it happen, and two cyclists that said they saw the bus, but in my state of mind I didnt get their details. All I know, is that is was a large grey bus, with blue writing on the side. The type that does luxury tours around Cape Town. I phoned Greyhound, but they say their buses are white, and dont use that road. I dont think I'll be riding that route for a while...
  10. This morning riding up Constantia Nek from the Houtbay side I got "bumped" by a bus... I was riding well within the yellow line and this Mutha F......er came into the yellow line on purpose! (as it was a straight section of road), and I shouldered myself against the side of the bus to prevent myself from falling under the wheel, and eventually went "safely" off the road and into the dirt. I screamed for the bus to stop, but he carried on going. (there was a white VW Polo hooting for the driver to stop) This happened at 9:40am, 01 March 2009. It was on the Houtbay side of Constantia Nek, ironically, close to the graveyard. The Bus was Grey. If anybody knows which company this is, that would help too. No, it's not greyhound, their buses are white. I'm okay, a little sore, but mostly shaken.
  11. EASTON EA50 Better than wheels costing twice the price. I just bought a set for training, I paid R3400, at it was money very well spent. If you go for older dura-ace wheels, you going to battle to find spokes, and with the nipples at the hub, good luck true-ing them should you need to straighten them. PS: Custom build are by no means cheap. Yes, you can get a really strong, last forever wheelset, but will be ugly as sin, and will cost more than something similar, off the shelf.carlo_sg2009-02-27 00:38:18
  12. I've spoken to people who have, and apparantly the Zipps are Stiff and lightweight. While Easton was at the other end of the scale in terms of stiffness. I've also weighed 3T products, and they were a lot heavier than spec.carlo_sg2009-02-25 06:58:28
  13. Really? Mine are super-stiff, But I'm a lightweight. The only time I can feel flex, it when I'm in the drops, going very fast over very bumpy surfaces, other than that, none what so ever. Yes, they do look good.
  14. if money is no object, get the Zipp SLC2 and SL145 combo, approx. 350g I've heard the 3T stuff is no where near as light as it says it is... Generally speaking, more weight in carbon = more stiffness. I've got ITM K-Sword Bars and stem, by no means light, but stiff as hell!
  15. Let those "All-Stations" police dogs through the bushes, that should flush the MF out... btw, Happy Birthday Flowta
  16. My bad, already posted... https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=44268
  17. Just heard two cyclist were hit in Houtbay this morning, by a taxi. Taxi sped off.
  18. Couldnt agree more! How sweet is the rear derailleur shifting?! 7.2kg, thats damn impressive considering the wheels. Give us a spec list of whats on the bike, or more pictures.
  19. Clearly you are a lot heavier than me... Mine was 2120mm Much of a muchness, PPA never get the distance of the race correct anyway... LOL
  20. Thanks man. Thats actually where I got the idea from. http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=52527 Plus lots of people are always asking the weight of stuff, so I thought I'd do it this way, considering I was stripping and putting it together all the time...
  21. A son asked his father, 'Dad, will you take part in a marathon with me?' The father who, despite having a heart condition, says 'Yes'. They went on to complete the marathon together. Father and son went on to join other marathons, the father always saying 'Yes' to his son's request of going through the race together. One day, the son asked his father, 'Dad, let's join the Ironman together.' To which, his father said 'Yes' too. For those who don't know, Ironman is the toughest triathlon ever. The race encompasses three endurance events of a 2.4 mile (3.86kilometer) ocean swim, followed by a 112 mile (180.2 kilometer) bike ride, and ending with a 26.2 mile (42..195 kilometer) marathon along the coast of the Big Island, Hawaii. Father and son went on to complete the race together Watch this unbelievable video http://www.tangle.com/view_video.php?viewkey=8cf08faca5dd9ea45513
  22. LOL Sammajoor, you're funny! Samson99, the good and bad news is the market is in a bad way now, so you're not going to get much for your bike, even considering the upgrades. You're probably looking at between R3000 & R4000. But thats also the good news... You're bound to find a really good deal too. If you go with a "boutique" brand like BMC, you're going to pay alot for an entry level spec'd bike. But if you look second hand, something a bit more sought after, like Scott, Specialised, Raleigh etc. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck. There are lots of good deals on thehub right now, and some sellers are very reputable.
  23. Thanks! HAHAHA! Yes' date=' for the time being... Funny thing is... This bike started out with Campag Record! Then Shimano, Now SRAM. Your bike sounds good, you should post a pic in the photo section.
  24. Well, setting it up was a nightmare! If the derailleur bolts or clamps weren't facing 3 degrees east of magnetic north, it DIDNT work! But once it was all figured out, and the cables clamped, no adjustments were needed - IT JUST WORKED! The tension in the cables feels high, partly do to the seriosly strong derailleur springs. The shifts fire off like a gun, seriously loud CRACK, but are really fast. The front derailleur is easy to operate, but the rear will take some getting used to, cant tell yet, if I'm going up or down...
