  1. ok so wat we are actually comparing is the difference/price jump from a entry level HT to a racing FS then?
  2. So i take it you are happy with your Chinese bike? I have ridden everything from a entry level, even rode someone else cheaper FS (nogal) Chinese bike and in no way can compare them. I wouldn't want to buy X amount of 'cheaper' bikes for the one I currently ride. Yes 'Name Brand" bikes are expensive and IMO we do pay too much for them, but I work hard for my money and I enjoy riding. I do not buy my bikes new, it is like buying new cars. They are over priced, but I would rather search the Hub for a good bike at a reasonable price. We might not place in the top ten but we enjoy riding. Should we also complain about the price of other sports, food prices, the price of petrol?
  3. glad to hear that you got sorted out, otherwise it would be pimping out a whole new bike. lol
  4. Have ridden with formula's (B4's, K18), Hayes 9, Shimano (XT,LX) as well as Avid (Juicy3, Ultimates) and personally I like the feel of the avids. If you got the extra cash to sink into bike upgrades then go for it but otherwise stick to what works for you. Weight reduction and pimping a bike is a expensive and addictive affair.
  5. Thanks JB Its the lower bearings, i doesnt look like a standard bearing as it has a spacer/lip on each side of the bearing where the pivot slides through.
  6. Does anyone who has one of these know where to get aftermarket bearings for this bike? Tried the local bearing shop and they said it was custom, is that true? Thanks
  7. Tx for sharing the pics, nice to see him take the win at home
  8. Agreed and thats why I like the ride before you buy idea. Wish everyone would jump on the bandwagon and get bikes out there to test ride especially with the cost of some of the machines out there now.
  9. Why stop there, what about a cruz? He did ask about Giant vs Trek. Wife rides a Giant and loves it but now building up a all rounder cruz for her. As suggested, ride both bikes and see which one works for you. Probably the best advice? perp2009-04-12 13:53:22
