  3. For cheaper option +1 on the reign front. My wife rides one and she loves it. Had the opportunity to ride it in Eden one day and liked the fact that you could pedal it up the mountain, all around and then bomb it on the downhills.

  8. 11kg might be pushing it a bit? My Blur(L)is coming in at just under 11kg and parts list is pretty light. Flea hubs on ZTR Olmypics XO RD and shifter with matchmakers XTR FD XT crank Ultimate Brakes Monkey lite bars Thomson post with Gobi saddle Cassette and chain is sram 990
  9. My brother in laws shova (L) came in at just under 13kg and had reasonable build kit. Wifes Blur (M) weights in at 12.5kg with XT stuff
  10. would it also depend on what type of discipline you are riding as a XC bike should weight less than a trail bike?

    My new ride, still waiting for other parts but I just wanted to get her up and running. Hoping for the final weight to come in at sub 11kg.
  15. See if the Bontrager plastic rim strips will fit in your rims as these will not break when you try to change tires.

  18. I dont know the weight of the XT but have you considered the AM Classics? They are pretty light and tarmac sl3 is selling them for R4250. Tarmac if u reading this I hope I get some kickback?

  20. Have a big digital scale at work and a digital fishing scale at home. The fishing one is relatively inexpensive.

Building a trail bike now and the weight prediction looks pretty good so far .

  23. What would you suggest, seatpost and saddle seatup?
  24. Looking for a light weight but comfortable saddle and was checking out the SDG I beam seatpost. Is anyone using them or is there other light weight components? I am using the Gobi XM wing Flex at the moment and find that pretty comfy but wanna lose a couple grams where ever I can on the new ride.
