Awesome day out. The Monster never fails to impress and never fails to have bumps and rocks and grass right to the end. True MTB race. Just got in before the cramps were about to start, so for once I was not a cripple on the finish line. Had some great laughs on the way with rouxtjie, jcza, mike, typhoon and many beers at the finish line..... Great to see my sister and nephew win the 45km. They do the training for the family and I drink the beer drinking for the family :-)

Reminds me I must fetch my goodies bag from you ha ha.............

Will be interesting, my ave last year was the same as the previous year but the distance was longer. With the longer distance guess a lot of us will be out there longer again.

Ha ha rouxtjie was trying to downplay his new legs and weight yesterday I am very sure he will kill it.

Oh no you want to stay at my parents house your in for a savage night especially since he won't be riding this year so won't be tired

You guys are lucky, I am going back to my parents house where my dad tells me he has the night off and is allowed to party it up.......... eish I feel a sore head in the morning coming up

Ha Ha very true story though, but you guys have been warned my dad is only doing the 45km and seems to be focused on getting to the beer tent quickly, which means we should all pack a cooler box of castle lites just in case they have run out before we get back

Damn small wheels, (spare Manitou green 80mm fork) and a backpack ha ha. At least I had the castle lite shirt on

Yeah the tower is easy section, you feel like lance going up there cause the back end of the shorter races are battling their way up, so you feel like a pro still being able to ride it..... The section just before the tower/concrete strip can get rather hot and dusty

Your all forgetting the section where you turn off the sand road and hook left towards the "monster climb" I always says it's not the hill it's the section before it that kills you... prepare for rocks in the grass and lots of both.....

Yip 45km for her. Also bringing more drinking reinforcements this year. My dad is also doing the 45....... Lets hope there is beer left for us at the finish line when we all get there

That was in my non Christmas pie days..... Well I call them Christmas pies but the GF has been angling towards it is the beer drinking that's causing the belly to swell never blame the beer

That's cause I thought you guys were hot on my tail. Nearly died staying ahead. At least I got to the beers first.... Still got some pies but not as much as Dullies.... These are the longest lasting Christmas pies ever. 40yrs plus ain't for sissies

That's just cause you guys didn't know how to ride the sand through the orchards near the beginning and fell behind me Trust me on this year when I say beer drinking is on top form while riding is 2nd form...... At least I have some sort of form

I think I will be dropping to B batch as typhoon has not managed to crack the A batch lately and I said I would ride with him. That means you guys will have to wait at the shabeen bott of the nek for us to catch up if you want a tow

Looks like I am going to be extremely dusty at the end of this race. Typhoone, Mike then me in a train = dust in your face.... person to watch out for this year is rouxtjie. Looks like a stick man after all the weight he has shed, and been pumping the power meter...... He is ready to race this year..... Don't think he drinks much beer so I will drink his share afterwards

Not this year boys I have not ridden further than 70km once this year mostly just 40km rides, but hey AFTER the race we can get into what I have been training very HARD at. Beer drinking you guys thought I was on form last year.... wait till this year

Well FNB can't even do the entries so guessing you may have to pay extra fees at the top of the nek. When I paid I did an EFT. Everything on the website said FNB but the bank account is...... Std Bank Well very under prepared this year so a sufferfest it will be. Said I would ride with typhoon, hope he has not been training much
