  2. It is the their new 2002- present logo . The Daytona has it all over the interior. 80yr old badge would put it in the 1939-1957 range. Now that's quite a distinct one for sure.
  3. But what's on the nose of a new Ferrari............... Roll with it
  4. While away this weekend i spotted these 2 bikes just hanging in an old barn (which looks like it used to be a barn/pub on the farm). Not sure what they are worth or of there were others in the barn. Pics not the best, but I took them in a hurry.
  5. Sorry forgot to add, I am in Harties NW/Gauteng area
  6. Hi, I have the following for sale Mecer inverter SOL-I-AX-3kv 24v (Jan 2019) 2 x ACDC SolarGel 250ah batteries Jan 2019 2 x ACDC SolarGel 250ah batteries May 2020 1 x Fuse breaker Cables for the Batteries. Asking R10000.00
  7. Hi, I can only talk about the raspberry pi connection. Solar Assistant, you can buy the Pi + software already installed, or just the software alone which you would then flash onto the Pi. If Gel batteries, then you would just have the USB from Pi to USB on Inverter (square USB type). This gives coms between pi and inverter. You would rely on the inverter to give you battery information. If you have panels then the SA software can manage the panels instead of the inverter. Much better solution. With Lithium batteries you just buy the correct cable (Solar assistant has various cables depending on your battery make/model). This gives you communication from the battery to Pi and you can let the software manage that. Kind of a MUST when running Lithium batteries on the Mecer Inverter as it actually keeps thinking your batteries are low, but in reality, they are not, the pi/software manages this. Setting the Battery connection on the SA software to BMS which means the software is now managing the settings and not the inverter, the battery is now 100%
  8. Hi, I have a Mecer SOL-I-AX-5P64 Inverter and have the Shoto SDC 10-Box5 5.12kw lithium battery. I am looking for some guidance on the settings on the inverter side. I have attached the screenshot of the Battery manual, and the inverter plate. Some I think are correct. Currently I am using it for pure backup (no panels). I also have it connected to a Raspberry PI and using Solar Assistant software. I know 12 and 13 are not taking into consideration when set to UEI on 01 setting. Currently set to the below settings, but I assume something is too low on the charge side as the inverter thinks the battery is fully charged, but the Solar Assistant says 79% charged, All the lights on the battery show all green for charged, so there is definitely a disconnect somewhere. Thank you very much. Mecer Inverter settings 01 = UEI (Utility first the Battery) 02 Max Charge Current = (30A) 05 Battery Type = (USE) --12 Setting Voltage point back to Utility (SBU priority) = (48v) --13 Voltage point back to battery mode when using SBU in 01 = (51v) 26 Bulk Charging Voltage = (54v) 27 Floating Charging Voltage = (54V) 29 Low DC Cut Off Voltage = (47V) Battery Manual DOC = 80% Charge Voltage = 54v - 56.4v Discharge Voltage = 45v - 48v Nominal Voltage = 51.2v Charge Discharge Current = 50A
  9. Ever had wandering brake lever feel on Shimano brakes. When using them a fair amount, the bite point can be ok the first time you pull the lever, let go and quickly pull again the bite point can be totally different. Something to do with the fluid not returning fast enough from what I can read up about. Some suggest using Putoline mineral oil which is not as thick and returns quicker. Never tested it, just got a set of Hope brakes to solve it 🙂 I think Magura said something about a higher boiling point for their blue blood and safe for the seals. I doubt the leaking lever had anything to do with topping up the levers with shimano oil once as I could not get blue blood.
  10. Just a heads up, as with Magura and their blue blood, even though we know we can use Shimano mineral oil, they won't warrantee your brakes if there is anything other than Magura blue in them. Same could be for Formula Cura brakes.
  11. Hi, Could anyone help with costing of 2nd hand inverter Mecer SOL-I-AX-3K (3kw-24v) comes with 4 x 250ah ACDC batteries (2 are 3 years old and 2 are 1 year old), battery cables and 1 pole 100amp fuse. Also where can one sell this. Reason for selling is new system was upgrade with bigger inverter and batteries.
  12. Excellent, been wondering how this was done. we were thinking of something similar. Already have a wifi geyser switch which has more than halved the consumption, but as I have set daily timers, I sometimes forget about load shedding and don't switch it on before. had a few groans from the wife that the water was not hot. running on panels during the day will solve this issue.
  13. Have you used a "Mini Inverter" between panels and the geyser? If so which one have you sed?
  14. Hi, Justw wanted to know how to calculate the Low Voltage for setup. It is a 48v setup 5kw inverter. The batteries are 12v 200ah and have the following settings Bulk 14.5v - 14.9v so setting it at 58v Float 13.6 - 13.8v so setting it to 54.4v It is setting the low voltage for 50% discharge (or even 60%) that I am unable to calculate.
  15. VG2.gpx NewGreek From VG.gpx Attached is some VG files. You will be able to use the NewGreekFrom Vg file to get to Greek straight from the start. Pomphuis, I am not sure if he has cleared the route up so some blackjacks last time we went
  16. Hi, You will have to ask Victor at the gate where you pay on the latest changes by the river. The farmer put up a few fences dues to theft which has blocked a few routes. 1. You can get to Greek church from VG going over the steel bridge. Signage is the blue board with white arrow. 2. If you go out to concrete strips, Tannie Meims and come round the district road to go to greek churck you have 2 options. First is the Greek church sign (this map shows Baboon 1) easiest way to get the greek church from the district road. You can also start the river route and as you drop in from the district rd you turn left over the concrete bridge to the other side of the river ride along the river until the steel bridge then cross over the river on the bridge and follow the sigs. That gets you onto the Greek Church 1. Once at the greek churh, I heard Babbons 1 still has quite a few random loose rocks from the baboons, but the "Baboons 2" route (higher one) is clear at the moment from the big loose rocks from the baboons.
  17. You need the cover replacement kit. Unfortunately Coolheat only has XTR option in stock (don't think it will fit XT) Shimano SLM9100 R/H CASE COVER UNIT I think you would be looking for the Shimano SLM8100 R/H CASE COVER UNIT
  18. Trinity Cycles is Still in Hartbeespoort town (by French Toast) and Cycles2U moved to a shop opposite the entrance to Peacanwood. Both will help out gladly
  19. Eric does the Cheese tours now. He can get some serious speed in that wheel chair 🙂
  20. Victor is running it now since Eric's accident. As @Thug said he you knew the old VG then the new signs are a massive improvement. He is just struggling to keep up with some weed eating. Concentrated on the river section last week and was looking a lot better on Sat.
  21. Sorry to hear you got lost and got punctures. To answer your question how to get to waverider without going along the 'Edge of the field" you can do the following: 1. Ride as if you are going to the concrete strips. When at the very base of the concrete strips instead of going left and up the strips go right and off the end where the strips end, you will see about 5 meters further a single track going left up the hill (basically opp direction to going up the strips". The will take you to single track (purple signs) which will eventually go along the top of the ridge (lands on the right but you are on a ridge). This single track takes you to the start of waverider. Stay off pomphuis at the moment. loads of devil thorns at the moment. Must have collected over 30 in my tires a week ago. To get to baboons, there is 2 ways. You can take what your map calls "Baboon 1". You turn off the district road go through the gate at the guard house, then go all the way up to the greek church. We tend to start the river keeping to the left track and go up to the Greek church via what your map calls "Greek Church 1" and "Greek Church 2". Again go right up to the Greek Church. Once at the Greek Church you have to look for the Red sign that says Baboons. Bit hard to see due to the growth but if you stand at the boma looking towards the dam, the Baboons track is to your left through an gate and up the hill. As you go through the gate keep to the right.
  22. Van Gaalens depends on where you ride will be fine. River is OUT, but the Valley and Meims is ok. Also the Greek Church area is ok. Dumped Rain yesterday but 2 days of sunshine should be ok except the River. Even the District Road yesterday was mud. Hennops, even better for no mud. Just takes 1 day to dry and 95% ok. Ale House is close to both so Pizza and Beer can be on the cards afterwards
  23. At the bottom of the frame there is a QR code and its serial number - This is the correct serial number, but as mine is a sticker it has already started fading from washing after 6 months. You will have to cover it with clear plastic coating like the stuff you use to protect the frame. I could not find any way to register the bike for south africa, and the link sent is for Australia, of which you can't select Gauteng, or Western cape in the drop down, so I doubt it can be used. I do know warranty is done through your LBS and it goes to the below people in South Africa CYTEK CYCLE DISTRIBUTOR CC Headquarters: South Africa Phone: +27-21-8520509 Fax: +27-21-8519562 info@merida.co.za
