After being investigated after 6 days and getting cleared and waiting 2 days for a decision now apparently or should I say by magical RAW has a carbon fork and now waiting again for them to confirm, after that they will probably need to get approval again

Issue I have is that I did everything as they requested and were open and honest about everything and confirmed all the steps and information. Why does it take longer than a than a month and longer than 8 working days for them to reach a decision? Do you specify a bicycle saddle, cables etc? Where does it end? It was eacaleted to an Investigator yesterday asking where did I obtain the replacement quote and whatsapp messages. I even told them I have a eye witness. They make me feel like a "skelm" even after they mentioned and took note of my transparency and honesty.

I told them when I submitted the claim and asked if I should put the old wheels back which they said no and was upfront about where the wheels came from. I insured a bicycle and only specified the powermeter, pedlas and carbon bars. Never asked that wheels should be replaced with carbon wheels.

That will teach me to he honest. Wheels are not insured as it was his spare set .

Try 4 weeks. It's 6 days after they received all final reports and investigations. Claim was submitted 12 April

It feels like they are stalling to give a low ball settlement.

I am also still paying for the bikes' insurance as well Is this normal practice?

At this stage they don't even want to give an indication on what their intentions are on the frame or saddle which makes it even worse.

If the bike is written off how can they only pay a portion as any wheels.carbon or alu would have been written off. Even the saddle was broken due to the force off the impact.

I was upfront with my insurer from the start. Rexeived the wheels the night before after 7.00pm so there was no way off updating the item but does it really take 6 days to reach a decision. The frame alone should warrant that the bike be written off so the wheels should even be in consideration according to me as you can not get the frame anymore and the equivalent bike is about double the insured amount.

CBR confirmed carbon fracture on head steerer and top tube as well.

Our route goes over railway tracks for ages but think the slabs shifted as after going over them (probably took the wrong line) everybody complained how worse it has gotten all off a sudden. I even told I have a eye witness that was next to road as well.

Problem is the frame alone is already 40% of the insured amount. Waiting for feedback from Look as my pedlas are also bent and suspect the crank is as well. Bike was insured as completed bike if I had any other wheels on it would also have fotten damage on. Does it really take a 6 working days (and counting) to decide? Even the back tire has gotten a bubble on due to the impact. Breaking surface is bent in and the seating bead is bent outwards and separated from breaking surface.

The insured amount was less than replacement value with or without the varbon wheels. I don't want extra money for the carbon wheels just the insured amount.

I submitted a claim for my damaged bicycle (carbon wheel is a write off with fracture damages to my frame on 2 different places as confirmed by CBR) on the 12 April and still haven't received an outcome. Has anyone struggled with Naked (underwriters are Hollard)? Bike is Giant Propel Advanced SL ISP. Bike was insured with alu wheels but the night before I swapped the wheels with my friends carbon wheels to test with the intend to buy them from him or buy the same wheels new. Apparently this (the wheels) are were the hold is.

My Garmin picked up 4km of unpaved roads. There were some tricky sections earlier or first 15-20km but after that it was ok. Still don't know why they don't split the short distance riders and long distance riders on Carnival road. You have double lanes in both directions. Can't you close one lane in each direction? We did have wind but don't think it was that bad compared to other years.

Does anybody know how is the Vukani ( mind the spelling) rider that went down near Carnival City in the BL group? Rider went down (unable to shield his face) hard.

Hi hubbers Thinking of doing this race again after some time away from racing. The last time I did the race the road surface was bad when you turn right heading up to the T junction (left to Meyerton and right to Heidelberg 30km mark) on the downhill and also between Meyerton and Henley on klip. How are the road surface at these 2 sections ( do we skip these 2 segments) and overall and how does the new route compare to the old route?

I finally got a reply. Seems that hubber has a different phone for bikehub deals and was away on his anniversary. The locker he selected was to small and change it to a bigger locker when coming back. Not entirely at ease but let's see what happens. Things are starting to move in the right direction

Think the hubbers that gave ratings for CasualRider should also be investigated as they might be part of the Scheme then ....
