  1. yesterday i saw two guys (not together) riding up and down chappies without any helmet. very stupid. when crashed recently my helmet saved my head from being split in two...
  2. I will try. I had the same issue with the spring league, they said i could do it. I changed my mind and never did it in the end because i felt i wasn't nearly ready. I did try and race the Engen Dynamic in the Elite bunch, ended badly...
  3. Do you guys think i'll be aloud to enter If my PPA Seeding is H. I've only done 4 PPA races before. If i can send proof that i can keep up with the group from my recent races and Provincials results. I Will be entering in the Juniors so i need an A-E i think. I could also get letter of proof from people like John Wakefield or others. Thanks J
  4. How do i tell which is the group of guys that do the extra distance after the ride. Going to join tomorrow.
  5. You sort of look like Burry Stunder
  6. Not sure if this helps but i did a 6 hour Argus and then a 2h50 94.7... I'm sure start groups is everything, a very strong rider told me that its not you that does the Sub 3 hour its the group that does it.
  7. Hey, whats the race group ?
  8. Thanks. I'll contact you when i'm in JHB.
  9. Thanks, will defiantly look into Suikerbosrand and the Cradle. Any idea what house Chris is in
  10. So i'm going to be in JHB from 22Dec - 2 January. I'm training for the Summer league in the Western cape and two MTB stage races next year, racing in Junior men group. . As i don't know JHB very well and i'm only 17 , i'm looking for some group rides that i can join. MY training program has around 4/5 hour rides pretty much every day during that time. Some fast paced road rides or any really, i don't mind. I will be staying in Saxonwold, but don't mind going to other places. Your Help is much appreciated Josh.
  11. I'm also taking my Mavic wheels there to be fixed from yesterdays race.
  12. I think that was me. I was involved in the main crash. The guy in front of me took out two other riders and they all fell onto my wheel so i had to fall. Sorry about your crash. Was no way i could have moved out the way while falling.
  13. Haha, Probably good idea. The second group was massive, i think the Front of the B bunch joined the back of the A group. Was way to big. The crash up Hells Hoogte split the group very quickly.
  14. It wasn't you. Another rider, not sure his name.
  15. Thanks... I saw that guy, the one in the CWC kit did the same thing in the Durbanville race. He would sprint to the front of the bunch and then suddenly stop then everyone had to dodge him.
  16. Thanks. Was my first fall on a bike before, pretty scary. There was certain people who were riding all over the place from start to finish. He was bumping into other riders often. Healing up well, my head took a beating.
  17. I road the race mostly to get a better seeding for the Argus, do you guys think i can tell the people in charge of the seeding for the argus to not count my die burger time ? or could i just say i crashed and would have go a better results if i hadn't ?
  18. I was in the A bunch, crashed really badly with 10km's to go. I think i was going to get a good time, very disappointed cracked my helmet almost in half, lots of road burns and bruises. Some of the riders road really badly. Bike is messed up with the wheel broken and frame cracked.... But luckily i wasn't hurt that bad. All happened because one of one oke's inability to ride straight. Also fell going up Hells Hoogte but managed to catch to up to the front of the A group though. Still finished though with around 2h50.
  19. Waking up at 2:30....Cyclists are a very special group of people
  20. That's not a problem getting there at 5:30 is
  21. Hoping to do a sub 2h30. Just so i can get a A,B start group for the Argus next year. Do you think with a 2h30 Die Burger and a 2h52 94.7 i'll get that sort of seeding.
  22. Thanks, very helpful. I would have thought that the first 30km would have been the slowest because of the big climb in the beginning.
  23. I wouldn't want to commute on that.
  24. Do you guys also do Mountain bike rides? i'm sure if you would start a MTB it will be very popular.
  25. I will come during school holidays now, can't go during the school week. Only problem is its 20km away from my house...
