+2 If I ride above my skill level and damage a tire or wheel or perhaps shift like a chop on a climb and break a chain how can I expect fellow rides to "wait" for me?

It's frustrating to see guys spend hours training on bikes worth thousands of rands and spending time and money on going faster yet they don't own an accurate pressure gauge to measure a component of performance that is totally free! Whatever your weight, strength, race or fun rider you need to know your pressure and at the very least ride the same pressure every time you ride! How else will you ever learn the capability of your equipment or yourself? Get a gauge, find a pressure and ride the same setup!

It's been proven by a number of tests by one of the major tyre manufacturers that lower pressures do not increase the drag and in fact the added grip negates any loss caused by a lower pressure. I weigh 65kgs and run a 11kg bike (incl water) and run 1.4/1.5bar with no issues. Trails are well maintained and don't have many rocks though. That's on a 29er Htail btw

F29 Carbon 3 is to me the best value for money bike out there if you get a good deal!! I may covert them secretly...

Does anyone have a Local Bike Store that sells white and black Jagwire gear cable outer by the meter? I have a new Cannondale with Jagwire cables and I cut too much off the cable oure and need 2 new pieces only 400mm long each. So if I can find a LBS that will sell me a meter of white outer only it would be great!!

I'm stil undecided on a FSA setback or a SAVE post. I don't find the ride that hard so flex is not a big deal. A nice ENVE wouldn't be ugly but would be ugly on the bank balance.

I recently bought a Cannondale F29 C3 or Fash 3 Carbon. Out the box this bike is 10.7kgs and is by far the best value for money hardtail F29 Cannondale offers and competes very well against similarly spec'd bikes from other manufacturers. I'm no weight weenie or racing snake but I have found some ways of shaving some weight off this bike without having to spend huge amounts of money! The obvious thing to do to this bike is shed the tubes and go tubeless...second to that I would say a big saving could be made with lighter wheels, namely ZTR's.These are easy gains and cost money but there are ways to get a little more off for almost nothing. I managed to shave off 154g with very little cost and just some time and effort. I'm a 70kg rider and decided I dont need 180mm rotors to stop with. I got an almost new 140mm Rotor off TheHub and changed out the 180/160 combination for a 160/140mm and all it cost me was R195!! 180mm vs 140mm rotor - saved 76g Changed to Chunky ESI grips and lost the standard brake bolts for a 78g loss. I guess with Titanium bolts one could save more but the SS ones work just fine! I'm close to 10kg's flat incl. pedals without carbon bars or stem or new wheels.... Maybe other F29 owners have done the same and can add their weight loss diet plan or comment on these or other ideas.

I'm looking for a 350mm piece of white outer if anyone has a short off cut lying around. I managed to cut my shifter outer too short on my new F29!!!
