  1. INTERNATIONAL BACKING on legal costs? What a baller! Phew, now we know where Elon Musk is sending all the savings! But on a serious note, when people talk like that, you know instantly the bull**** is flying. Shame, people do fall for this as many actually dont know the law and how it works. He must send those proper letters instituting legal proceedings, anything else is just dog barking at cars passing by.🤣
  2. Yes, the very foundation of a defamation case the person claiming to be defamed has to first prove their reputation, and only after that they need to then PROVE how you damaged it. And then put a quantifiable amount in Rands on it and then prove that. It's actually one of the most difficult court things to win from what I can gather, going through it myself (ironically against a big cycle distributor, so related to this forum in some way! LOL). The thing with the big firms is that they're not like the backyard attorneys who will "give it a try!", they are upfront and outright if you're pretty much not going to win or gain from it, they tell you and kill the process. It's been a life (and wallet) saver sometimes when my head wasn't so cool against inferior suppliers, which are a huge problem in my industry. But I also dont think Tuan has a real attorney worth his salt for ONE reason: if someone says "fnck you, I'm happy to be sued for defamation, bring it on" (like me) the challenge for him begins: he firstly actually has have this served on someone and get a court date, then pay the attorneys costs, but even if he gets this far, then is he going to perjure himself in court with fake documents? who is going to come and back him up under oath without concern for their own perjury considerations? is he willing to have all the dirty laundry of his deeds become public record? and lastly when he loses (almost a slam dunk guarantee), he opens himself up to costs (not that he'll pay, but there are ways) and the fact that he cannot threaten the smaller fry with his tactic again. I dont think he's big pictured this or gotten VERY bad legal advice on this avenue. It's worked so far, but all we all need to do is accept his challenge, group it all together as respondents, and see it through to court. I'm pretty sure he'll back out before then, but if he doesn't, it's going to be a jol and a half.
  3. Years ago when I started in business, my partner in a venture always said "never use small fry attorneys, they're not worth it". And ever since I've used ENS. They've been incredible on everything and literally perfect. Whether it's dealing with shitty suppliers or negotiating contracts. I said to the one attorney on a recent issue where a supplier tried ripping us off and overcharging and then threatening us with being sued, that they dealt with it in minutes. His reply was "we're the pitbulls on crack cocaine lawyers". haha. So Tauny boy, bring it on. DM me for my full name and ID number. I'll see it through. Challenge accepted. Also as someone who's literally gone to court for defamation (and I won), I'll confirm he (Taun) doesn't stand a chance as he cannot prove the VERY first thing he's going to need to: his reputation. And the other part of defining his loss financially - he will need to show all his scam numbers and how his scams were impacted, but you cannot claim that as a loss. So bring it on cu.nt.
  4. Damn, I dont have a Fakebook account for this. Everyone must remember to share it to their pages and ask their friends to join and share to get the word out.😅
  5. Such a special place. Go every year. Going in July again this year. Last year and previous had a few rainy days. But still amazing. After 5 trips finally got to ride Champery and was humbled. LOL
  6. Everyone should share this on their socials. Perhaps also get Devi to do a show on this? She loves stuff like this. DM me for her producers contacts. That name and face need to be everywhere.
  7. Facts are facts. Defamatory / opinion / etc I agree, do not post. But facts? Truth? 100% share away. Borrowing and not returning is called theft. As long as the original owner asked for it back. Was a case of theft opened against him for this?
  8. Crazy. Money owed would definitely be a civil matter. But the minute he used fake POPs as alluded to above, that's criminal?
  9. Phew. This is insane. I just followed this whole thing. The Mike Bolhuis link looks like the scammer was arrested this week? Any updates?
  10. Cant wait. Much better day out than going to watch the Epic start.
  11. I put on the Spaz Pathfinders in 40c Very happy and great on the road too. Only issue is front one doesn't hold air well, tyre loses half it's pressure over a few days. I've put more sealant in there than I care to think too. But as the back is fine, I thought it was the rim / valve. Replaced tape and valves and still the same, so maybe a dud tyre.
  12. Slackline is fncking sweet though! And built properly will be fun and a beast on those trails. Niiice. EDIT TO ADD: You're in Europe then.... dont just focus on a new Enduro, you have the world of choice, so need need for that Saffa Spaz mentality. haha..
  13. I think he needs an enduro style setup as others have said. Glad you mentioned Intense... loving my Tracer 279. I'd say if buying secondhand off the Hub, the Spaz Enduro has fnckall value now, so that's a good go-to. I was nervous selling mine as it was the closest to a DH bike and also the benchmark... but the 279 is way nicer (except in baby head high speed rocks, but niche problem) everywhere. It pedals miles better uphill (even with DHX2) and going down is miles more fun and first ride out without even suspension set up, faster everywhere. Confidence wise on the steep stuff it was just so much better. I've done Morzine with DH Bike (Intense M16C), Enduro and Tracer. I would have loved a DH bike again, but didn't really feel like I was missing out. Tracer will be expensive, so suggest an Enduro and whilst it's a dog uphills, you do get used to it quickly. Stumpy Evo seems the "cool kid" recommendation at the moment, and it's excellent, but for your riding in that area, just get the Enduro, up the fitness and you'll love it way more.
  14. Hahaha, Seth is literally the REASON I have this bike. He wore me down after he got his one.🤣
  15. No bags, no beard, no flannel shirt, no male to male massages post ride, no coffee stops (tea for the win) and no tattoos. It's actually hectic they even let me buy a gravel bike.
  16. I ride their knee and elbow guards. Happy and will buy again - knee pads are starting to see some rips and wear, but had them for ages. I'm happy with product life cycle. Their Trail Tee's are also great, I own a few and wear them regularly. Pricing was good too. I dont like any of their other product for me personally (looks, not function though). May try their gloves as I always used TLD gloves, but lately dont like any designs so been trying the 100% gloves and they literally fall apart after a few months. I have 10+ pairs, ride semi regularly, so the rotation is good. Lets see.
  17. All I took from this is that my 8,9kg gravel bike with cheap wheels, alu bits, double sealant volume and heavy pedals is actually pretty competitive weight wise (always felt heavy after my road bike). Quick calc on swapping cassette (XT > XTR), lighter pedals, bar, seatpost, saddle, and 200g saving on the rims and it'll be under 8kg. Woot. Thanks for making me think about something like this Trek.
  18. It's here!! And Rupert says gravDH sounds great!
  19. I'm in when GravDH appears.
  20. Is this the guy who rode at Silvermine without a permit and then argued and got his **** broken? Still less sympathy for him in that incident if so than I have for Malema in his upcoming VBS (SARS untaxed benefits) case.
  21. Amazing. If I can get R10k excl shipping I'd be happy! Bike should be here Friday so I'll get advertising. Appreciate it.
  22. So it looks like in my daily wanderings I got a gravel bike. 😐 But to be honest I'm really just after the frame, so will be stripping down the bike and not sure what to sell the groupset for. Shimano GRX FC-RX600 11-speed 30-46t 175mm cranks Shimano 105 CS-HG70011 11-speed, 11-34t cassette Shimano GRX ST-RX600 11-speed shifters Shimano GRX RD-RX810 11-speed rear deraileur Shimano GRX FD-RX810 11-speed front deraileur Shimano GRX BR-RX400 hydraulic disc brake calipers 11 speed chain Can also chuck in 160mm Shimano Deore centrelock rotors brand new off bike, it's a Large and cables should hopefully fit most bikes considering the long cables. What would be a fair price to sell this for? Thx
  23. My Intense Primer. Still own it and every year I wonder what to replace it with, and cannot think of anything that will ride like it, weigh the same or be as fun. Sadly dont ride it as much as I want to and rather ride my eBike or Enduro bike mostly these days, but taking it out for a 50km jaunt, I can hit all the DH sections pretty much on par with my enduro bike (Intense Tracer 279 180mm). Fuckit I love the Primer. EDIT: other bikes I've really loved was my 1997 GT Zaskar, 2001 Giant DH-Team and 2015 Giant Trance 650b.
  24. Double post because I'm an idiot.
  25. This Franschhoek Pass thing has me going WTF! (and the mast one, especially as I was contemplating my annual ride up in the next week or so - by myself, but the Franschhoek Pass one is WTF!). This should not be a difficult sting. Rider on comms ambling up looking fabulous (it is pride month) and then back down. An hour later, same someone else. Rinse repeat with cops / etc at top and bottom in plain clothes / cars that can block the road or give chase once it goes down. A proper sting and grabbing of these ***** very publicaly will send a message. But will our province and police just ignore, because, hey, it's work? If they could be hurt or bleeding afterwards, that's a bonus.
