  1. Lately using the Muc Off Dry Lube. Yellow cap and it smells like banana sweets. LOL DH bike in Morzine last year, multiple roadies on the, well, roadie and also XO1 and XT 12-sp (with XTR cassette) and been some of the best lube and cleanest chains I've ever had. Strangely the roadie I have on my IDT (wheel off) fukking hates it.
  2. Yes, that would work, I bought the same thing for my Tacx trainer. Note that you may have to grind down the one side (appears to be a common issue).
  3. I have Zee on my DH bike, and the new XT (12 speed) 4-pot trail brakes on my trail bike. Before that I had the 4-pot XT M8000 series on my trail bike. Zee was definitely the best UNTIL I got the new XT 4pot. Holy crap. Makes the Zee feel weak in comparison (I also have had Saint). So off this "research", if someone wants cheap brakes, 4 pot, just get the new SLX or Deore 4 pots. They're basically the same and will have the power.
  4. I've opened Activity Monitor on my Mac when Zwift is running and it was about 10%.
  5. I got some from Enjoy called the Retilia or something. Tight enough, but also baggies. A fantastic fit. Use them for everything from stage race to enduro riding.
  6. No issues here - but swapped out from xD to Microspline on Hope PRO4 rear hub. 7 months and no issues.
  7. Good, as mentioned above, each fraudster just drives up the premiums for us all. Send the bastard to jail. That said, too many chancer claims have pushed up bicycle insurance I notice. I'd love just a basic theft (either from house or out being mugged for example). I am happy to take the risk for broken bikes etc... cant seem to find a separate policy like this.
  8. haha, 100 bucks says easily triple most peoples. Just better at handling it. Occassionally have the medics carry me off a project, but after an hour or two, I pull out that IV and check myself out.
  9. High stress and long hours dont seem to affect my riding at all. The only thing I have noticed is lack of sleep or bad / broken sleep f*cks me up properly the next day. Oh, and egg and bacon breakfasts before rides. I am flatter than Jacob Zuma's IQ.
  10. This is an easy reply. It's Eagle!
  11. This is very cool. Unlike the sh!tty new Hub interface and look.
  12. I went from XO1 to new 12sp XT (albeit with XTR cassette for weight). XT beats XO1 hands down, so imagine it'll beat GX too. And GX cassette == weight of XT cassette so go for it. The shifting up under load is incredible.
  13. December I cannot make, so 2021, here we come. Bummer. In the meantime.... It will take you to your lounge in your underpants.

    Why?

Supply and demand. Simple. And supply is plentiful and choices aplomb. Also, something is only worth what someone will pay for it. I'm lowballing houses right now. If that upsets you, take a hike. When the fruit is low, pick.
  15. I used my XO1 cassette whilst I waited for Hope to release their Microspline until I could use my XTR 12sp. So it was just rear mech and shifter until then, and it was perfect.... BUT.... ... damn, just go the whole hog in one shot. The shifting (up especially) makes the Eagle stuff feel clunky and horrible. EDIT TO ADD: I mean it worked fine, but once you've experienced the 12sp Shimano shifting, the Eagle feels p03s.
  16. Phew, but the SRAM riders are protective hey. If you look at a lot of the parts, XO1 Eagle and XX1 is pretty much the same. XO1 as said is more for the enduro / trail riders, and XX1 for the XC guys. Rear cassette? different colour. Cranks, a little beefed up on XO1. But that said, I've just ditched X01 for the new XT / XTR (cassette) build with 4-pot enduro brakes. Happy as anything, and hopefully doesn't need fiddling every few months. That said, even a friend who dumped Eagle for a new 12sp SLX (with XT cassette) build is raving non-stop about how it can shift anywhere, anytime, any cadence, any load up and down like clockwork. Not to mention being able to use pointer finger to "pull" downshift (and more than one at once). Each to their own, but honestly, I couldn't imagine going back to X01 now. Even if it was free.
  17. LOL No thanks. WTF man. Voluntarily WHY would anyone with a functioning brain do this?
  18. I'm going to get a new Apple Watch series 5. Have a nice Friday Hubland. The Garmin sheeple must be raging at that.
  19. Well, **** me. Our definition of "got roasted" must be completely different. I just saw a kiddie drop his ice-cream and start throwing a tantrum.
  20. LOL at the Cape Epic die hards. Absolutely hilarious. I have a colleague that is bef0k for the Epic, literally in his world there is nothing and no logic that can compare to the damn event. And good for him. He sweats on a Watt Bike 5 days a week and does a ride with a bunch of people who's sole goal on weekends is to out dick-swing each other on climbs. Kinda weird. My other group of riding buddies go out to ride. For a quarter of the cash they dragged me to Morzine, I also enjoyed S2C with a bunch of guys who had the same "lets enjoy riding our bikes" mindset, and I've lugged my bike in the EVOC bag around a fair bit this year enjoying riding with friends on different trails. A much better way to spend the cash in my opinion, and hell, I even had a "baby" stage race in there. I'd never justify the cash for the Epic when there is simply so so so so much more I can do with the same money. Next year is Morzine, Whistler and Rotorua, and I can assure all those puffer wearing, Garmin lovin Epic riders no matter how life changing the Epic is, it'll never match that trifecta with good buddies.
