  1. It's right on the limit. I ride 50/36 and 13/28 with a short rear derailleur with no trouble. I just make sure that I don't cross chain 50 and 26 or 28 (although it does work). Have ridden this setup for 2 years without trouble.

    Scam?

    Scam de-luxe!
  3. Once you have cleaned the bladder - fill with water and a teaspoon of vanilla essence. Leave for an hour or so, Rinse and the plastic taste should be gone. Works like a charm in new bottles.
  4. For what its worth -- I have used 12-28 for years with no problem.
  5. Quite correct. There is no spacer between the hub and the cluster.
  6. Thank you to everyone involved. Really appreciated.
  7. I use a good quality paintbrush and Paraffin. Gently spray off with garden hose. Wash the rest of the bike, as the gunk you have removed from the cassette, chainwheel etc is now on your wheels and frame. Wash the wheels and frame with a soapy water (or a car wash solution), spray off and chammy dry. New Bike!. When dry, re-lube.
  8. Too much info !!! Allways a dead giveaway!

  10. Sorry to hear about the burglary. Nevertheless, Happy Birthday!
  11. Quite correct, you cannot (should NOT) use a star nut in a carbon steerer tube. Sorry, I cannot give you advice on the headset !
  12. If I understood some of the correspondence on site earlier this year, the changes were made to improve the technical aspects of "the hub" (hope you understand the 'non computerees' so..... although it is all a bit strange like moving from Excel 2003 to 2007 or when our club changed its colours etc etc, lets get used to it. I think it looks 'fresh' and does seem to respond much quicker. I say well done, I for one am going to enjoy using the site.
