  1. nah there is not much you can do to bring out the shine again on the powdercoating. Maybe try flatting it with 4000 and soapy water and then buff it with 3M Perfect It II polish and a polish machine. Try it on a small area first tho Thanks but that seems like too much PT for something that should really be covered in mud. I'll just make sure its dirty so I dont notice. Totaly agree

  3. powder coating is rubbish. well thats my opinion. you will need to start from scratch as very little paint will actually stick to the powder coating. Best is to have it sand or bead blasted and paint it.
  4. if you want a glossy finish yes if not then dont. Or get some matt additive to add to the clearcoat to still have a protective layer but with a matt finish
  5. depends on how much time and elbow grease you are prepared to put into it. You can get it super smooth for a chrome finish if you want.
  6. yes but you will have a ridge around the decals. so i would suggest to spray 2 liberal coats, let it dry completely then flat it around those areas lightly using 1500 and then clearcoat is again unless you go the vinyl stencil route i use to spray the "decals" on
  7. use a twin pack etch primer.(twin pack = primer + catalyst) note catalyst and not hardener.) Available from any automotive paint supplier.
  8. yes really. it just gives a smoother surface. Same as 1200 but where 1200 takes alot of sanding on a coarse surface and goes blunt quickly use the 600 with soap. it cuts faster and smoother. When flatting the surface after it has been clearcoated and needs to be polished use 1500 and Sunlight liquid soapy water
  9. if it is just aluminium without any carbon you can use paint stripper available from any hardware store. just make sure you wash the frame decently after stripping the paint as any stripper left on the frame will react with the new paint.
  10. 600grit water paper is good for flatting down the frame. use some Sunlight liquid in the water
  11. Cant see that it would be a problem
  12. Yes i can and i can also remove any "decals" or "names" of existing carbon frames.
  13. R850 for complete respray including airbrushed decals.
  14. Strangely enough the demand for carbon products have kept the price increase low at 5% increase on carbon products against the 15% increase on price for the aluminium equavalent.
  15. Nice one Velo

  21. As im the distributor for Spinner shocks in SA i replaced a fualty shock on a Mongoose bought in the UK. No questions asked. Token has the same attitude. A customer bought a crankset more than 2years ago from a local LBS and had a problem with it bout 4 weeks ago. The distributor for Token from way back then just said they(Token) wouldt replace it. I sent 1 email with a couple of photos and a brand new crankset is on its way no questions asked. I will also have the same attitude with the frames that im selling.
  22. Sies.... Go and wash your mouth out with soap for the mere suggestion...
