  1. I have been majorily impressed with Smoove lube... Key is to apply night before ride... handles both dry and wet conditions well
  2. Hi Nancy, I have cycled out to as far the caves normally (which is about 25km into the route I guess. Once you turn right at that T junction how tough is the ride? Looks pretty daunting from the route profile
  3. Ah good point! Given that this is on my doorstep I hadn't thought about those things yet - but obviously vital
  4. "The hosting this event will be an achievement in itself, but in addition a tar road has been authorized to facilitate this event and is currently under construction. The road will allow the athletes access from the site of their 1,9km swim, to the surrounding roads to complete their 90km cycle leg. Full road closures will ensure that the roads will be free from traffic to ensure the safety of all competitors." http://www.sleeping-out.co.za/events/trirock-cradle-of-humankind "The building of a tar road has been authorised....."
  5. Yip how hard is it to post the cycle route road elevation??? I really hope they pull this off... I have my doubts
  6. Agreed - I personally thought they said it would be tarred. I guess compact hard sand COULD be ok... but it is quite risky... Rain and then its a stuff up
  7. Thanks for the constant feedback Jeroen
  8. From the dam all the way to the exit of Heia must be AT LEAST 1km... From the run route profile I would guess its closer to 1.5km Running from the dam after the swim to the exit is just way too far... Also I hear you with regard to the untarred section in Durban and that coming off, but that was a roads agency project? Anyway, I am with you in that I hope its a success and that the road is tarred... I just dont think this is their actual plan. Let me know how the scouting mission goes!
  9. I agree with you. If this event is a success I think it will draw huge crowds in the future. It is a tough route and ideally timed for those pushing on for Full IM. I just dont understand why TriRock is so coy about the update on the road. I get the feeling it is a mad scramble to get SOMETHING done. Cant see how they can tar that whole road in time personally....
  10. Not much though... No gels or Marathon which is specifically what I am looking for
  11. Agree that finding the products (especially full suite) is very difficult. Is there not a means to order somewhere online?
  12. Nothing better from an alround perspective than Maxxis Ikons
  13. Is the list per the cadencenutrition website of stockists correct?
  14. Karma... What was said about cadence nutrition - cant find the thread?
  15. I see temperature forecast is 37 degrees tomorrow! Anyone know if they have beefed up the water points? Last year (admittedly mid field)the last waterpoint was almost finished when we got there.
  16. Does this help? https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/146339-lekker-2015-events-calendar-for-gauteng-based/
  17. Ya thought as much... last year there were no wetsuits either. Just hoping for any help I can get Nevertheless looking forward to this - excellent event
  18. 2 days to go.... Gonna be a tough one as always! Wonder if it will be wetsuit legal?
  19. What do you need to grease on the bike and how often?
  20. Same here... When do I plan on not riding for 10 weeks?
  21. Had mine in for over 2 years.... Dr Kastanos put the plate in and it feels really good. I have had a couple falls with no issues. He does however also recommend that I take it out at some point. I am just hesitant because I have heard the recovery takes some time and that the holes in the bone take 6 months to fill and is therefore weaker for that length of time. In my mind that is just inviting another break?
