Best... race... ever

They have had to make changes to the course because of the rain... praying for no more rain

Never cycled at Heia, but by the looks of the race profile it looks tough. Also with the mention that its mostly narrow single trail - I really hope that it isnt slow congested race?

Did you come right with finding a route profile - also interested?

There are a couple challenging sections technical wise but nothing out of the ordinary as far as I can recall

Yip remember some HUUUGE rocks.... Worst part is the last 10km or so through heavy long grassy sections.... leg killer

Doing it this year... Last year was a stuff up as Day 1 was rained out... we did Day 1 (well about 65km of it) on the Sunday Was a great tough test - looking forward to this one. Hope its dry this year!

Hi - I have had a standard run of the mill Bell helmet for over 2 years now and its done the job perfectly but its life is sadly almost over. I am uninformed so do not understand the benefits of a 2k+ helmet over the lower range? Therefore I would like a recommendation of what the best helmet is below 1k and where to buy it. If you think a helmet costing more than this is undoubtably much more beneficial I too would appreciate your views Edit - MTB specific

It would sound like that the run and cycle route are quite flat... is that correct? I also see the entry says the runs are "trail runs"

Did the Sasol tri this past weekend... Paid R250 all in... got a great race pack and a superbly organised event Havent done XDirt, but is smaller distance and more expensive...

The run on the full was brutal... and heat was bad. Think the lesson is perhaps not asking for more waterpoints but rather, if you know you gonna be out there for awhile, tge safest best bet is to pack a canelbak. Leave it in transition and if the heat is hectic when you come off the bike, take it with
