  1. Well we don't use Pierre Lotti in our Jura, but you just might be in another division...
  2. Mmmmm. Woolworths (Tribeca) Continental Espresso beans go for about R40. The thing is, sometimes the coffee is on the shelf for long. Maybe check their website www.tribeca.co.za
  3. We have the Impressa X95 in the room I'm sitting in. They are using Sprada coffee, which is Tribeca. The other office I usually work in use Origin in the Jura
  4. What is the price per pack? Are you looking at 250g or 500g or 1kg packs? Also, where are you situated?
  5. My cheap home setup, but it suffices for now.
  6. http://shop.fittrack.co.za/401/garmin%20edge%20500%20bundle%20with%20hrm%2c%20speed%20or%20cadence%20sensor.aspx R 3 050 for the 500
  7. Before I got my knock box, I used one of the Woolies sweets tub's to dispose my Aeropress puck in, rather than having to walk to the dustbin. Just worked easier and cleaner.
  8. Okay watched another one. I'm definitely using the inverted method and think I have since my second cup, just makes more sense that way around.
  9. I still don't know if I'm using the inverted method or not. I think I am, based on the video I watched, but then I wonder what the normal method looks like. Oh, I got my Grindstein Knock Box today from Yuppiechef
  10. a blind filter is a portafilter with no holes at the bottom. so when the water comes though, it forces it back in to the machine to "backwash" it. I don't have one, I'm convinced it will break my cheap machine. Grouphead brush would be a brush to clean your grouphead with. I'm not sure if it should be a metal or plastic brush. don't have one myself...
  11. I also want to know where in Jhb is a place to pick up a good tamper at a decent price. Not a Reg Barber yet...
  12. I reckon go for the Aeropress. It is easier to find a kettle than a stove if you travel. Maybe a hand grinder. Porlex mini. it fits in the Aeropress when you travel. (I still want one for when I travel) Otherwise a burr grinder, but don't buy a R3k grinder just for your Aeropress... Hope it helps.
  13. Saw this at Bean There at 44 Stanley. Won't mind.
  14. Not sure about the E61 on the Oscar. Ask Weight Weenie. The man is the proud owner of one, he should be able to enlighten us.
  15. I stumbled upon this also earlier. http://www.coffeefanatic.co.za/shop/domobar-junior-lever-2b/ small boiler, but HX, whereas the Zaffiro is Single boiler http://coffeegeek.com/proreviews/detailed/isomaczaffiro Aesthetics wise, it looks better than the Oscar, but price wise the Oscar does well again.
  16. This isn't bad. http://www.gumtree.co.za/cp-coffee-makers-in-rosebank-northcliff-parktown/nuova-simonelli-musica-513758975 if only I had the dolla dolla bills.
  17. I really like the Breville Smart Grinder. @home has it for just below R 2000 Saw some good reviews for it. Not sure if Weight Weenie and V12 Man will agree. They are the most informed people on this topic in my opinion.
  18. I'm sure "they" are going to convince him otherwise soon.
  19. OP you're stepping in a trap.
  20. Some interesting reading: http://www.fivesenses.com.au/blog/2013/08/05/choose-your-own-coffee-adventure
  21. I almost bought an Oscar earlier this year. There was one available on Gumtree for R6000 including the matching grinder. I just didn't have the money at that moment. Spent all of it on my car's service. Damn.
  22. Where are you getting the Gaggia from?
