  1. XTs were great, juicy 5s(havnt tried them but have heard they give problems) why dont you try the oro K18s, im riding them now and cant complain, they are very powerfull and light and also look good to. Best brakes in the world as rated by mountain biker mag uk.
  2. Il definatly be shopping at Bike hut soon. Sounds like they are trying hard with this problem. Godd luck as the new owner
  3. How much do these retail for swift?

  5. Is this for real? I want 1 NOW!!!! but thats a steep price. Why is it not on the merida site?
  6. Speechless, thats a beauty. Whats it called?
  7. Yes if you are going to get a better 1 when you start riding more often.
  8. I find that when I run a 34 on the back there is no need for granny gear, therefore is more practical and weight saving if your a weight weenie. I run a 44-32 on the front and a 11-34 on the rear, dont know if you watched the XC nationals at cascades in PMB, that 1st hill was really steep and the gears made it easy to ride up where as the guys running an 11-32 had to run up. Didnt think it made that much of a difference at the start but when you need that extra gear it does make a huge 1. But all depends on the type of course you are going to be riding, leg strength etc.
  9. Zaskar - as to the mixing thing, my bike came with sram x7 shirters and lx front derailer, it works fine

  14. FSA make a proper compact MTB crankset, the k-force light
  15. FSA makes them aswell, but can only get them on CRC and a few other manufacturers make them aswell. But I use a 32 with a 34 on the rear. and im using a firex crank
  16. Iv converted my sram x9 to a double but its still not as good as my road derailer. So might just give this a go. Thanks for the input hubbers.
  17. They dont make double for MTB. I see the 1 guy from canondale and sauser rode this setup the whole epic and didnt fail. But im just not convinced enough to go out and try this yet, need some advice please
  18. I read that some of the top pros use a dura ace front derailer with a 29 tooth small ring, no granny ring, will this work well and will it last as long as an XTR?
  19. The sad fact is that we all live in SA, this country is going down really fast. For youngsters like myself and jreid its really hard to stay safe on the roads. I never ride alone, its just to dangerous( taxis and thieves) It really gets to me because the only time that is afe for me to train is 4am in the morning with my coach.
