  1. Sorry to hear about your issues with Canyon. My personal opinion is move away from Canyon, very very quickly!! Cancel your order and get your money back. They have abused your patience for way too long. And believe me, should anything go wrong with your Canyon in future, you would have endless red tape and fire hoops to jump through just to get actual Canyon after sales. I flew to Germany in July 2017 to pick up my Canyon Aeroad. 6 weeks later i crashed and had to replace the frame (frame and front wheel was damaged). Contacted Canyon to order a new frame only for them to tell me that they can only send me a new frame in November 2017 which meant I would be 3 months without a bike. Needless to say, i couldn't wait and went and bought a S-Works Venge Vias and Roval wheels. Used all the other part from the Canyon. Last week i started pedalling at an angle and after numerous trail and error inspections I saw that my Dura Ace 9100 drive side crank arm was cracked at the spider AND at the inside of the arm. Coolheat (shimano south africa) advised me that i should contact Canyon and have them warrantee claim the crank (shimano DA have 3 years warrantee). So i contacted Canyon Germany and they referred me back to Erik Kleynhans. I send Erik photos of the crack and a video showing the lateral movement in the crank due to the crack at the spider. I then advised Erik that the crank is now on a Spez as i had to replace the Canyon frame due to insufficient stock. Next email I get is Erik telling me that Canyon will not replace the crank due to (and i quote) "Neglect of product OR modifications to frame or fork OR crash OR excessive load OR jumps OR excessive loads of any kind OR mounting and alteration of additional components that were not expressly approved by us or replacement of our original components by components that do not have a similar quality. Canyon decided to use the Spez frame as "alteration of components". I replied to Erik saying how could Canyon penalize me for moving to another brand because they did not have stock of a new frame. He decided to ignore my email. Canyon would not have been out of pocket to replace the Shimano crank. they just had to help me with the shimano warrantee. but they decided to give me a big fat middle finger. So this is my experience with Canyon. Walk away. No, run. RUN FOREST RUN!!!
  2. Do you want to elaborate on that? Who exactly are you referring too?
  3. Unfortunately Canyon does not allow any changes to bike models. You cant even choose your crank lengths or stem lengths. Small frame comes with 170mm cranks and medium with 172.5mm cranks. If you prefer it different from what is specced then your only option is to sell the crank/stem and buy the one you want. This is the only thing that I think Canyon should revise. Lucky for me my bike was specced perfectly for me.
  4. Steps as follows: change delivery destination to UAE (there is no option for SA). A reduced price (- 19% EU tax) will show. Add bike to basket. Bike guard and shipping will then be automatically added to the final price. Take this price (in US dollar) and multiply with 15.4% (duties) Then take this price and multiply it again with 14% (tax) This will then be your final price.
  5. I was actually in Germany 2 weeks ago to pick up my Canyon Aeroad CF SLX 9.0 I found it cheaper to fly there than importing it. i was also lucky that i got the bike a week before the rand/euro went through the roof. Wish i could upload a photo but for some reason i cannot get the website to upload images.
  6. Thanks Bankie99, That will be a massive help. Good luck with your event. Love the route. Makes for some hard racing, especially if there is cross-winds (hopefully).
  7. I take it that the 3-day tour scheduled previously for 29 April - 01 May will now also fall away. Seeing that the 7 Sirs Group race is now scheduled for 30 April. I have to say, I'm really not impressed by the WP cycling website. Total lack of event information and dates. Really difficult to plan my teams racing calendar when dates are only available up to end April (which is 2 weeks away). What happened to the time trail events? Will there still be any?
  8. Please let me give my shopping list: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/continental-sprinter-gatorskin-tubular http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/continental-gp4000-tubular http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/shimano-dura-ace-9000-11spd-groupset OR http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/shimano-ultegra-6800-11spd-groupset http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/stages-power-meter-ultegra-6800 http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/look-keo-blade-2-pedals Please please please
  9. I changed from the KEO carbon to the new 20Nm blades. The 20 takes quite a bit more force to get your foot out. I would stay with the 16Nm if I were you.
  10. If we can just get the MyCiti bus drivers to be aware of the 1m rule, then it would be a great start. They are JUST as dangerous as the taxi drivers. Just out of curiosity, we all know about the 1m rule/law, but how many motorists actually know about this new law. Very few!!! And it's all good & well to have a new law, but how has this law ever been inforced? RIP to my fellow 2 wheel fanatic.
  11. Does anyone know if there is still a road group riding early mornings (05:00) in the Bellville/Durbanville area? I have one week left for base training and will have to split my rides into morning and evening rides (back at work again).
  12. Global tracker says my parcel is still "ON ROUTE". It's been saying that since 16 October when they send it. Parceltrack & trackmypracel says no item found. Because it has not been logged, I cannot get a local tracking number for it.
  13. Please please send me his detail. I ordered a set of Fast Forward F6R Wheels and other parts from Belgium. BPost (their courier company) said my package is at JHB (since beginning of November). Our post office says that there is no logs of it being in South Africa. Don't know what to do anymore.
  14. I spoke to Hannes a while ago. It will be a Giant Concept store which will be located close to the Checkers (not Shoprite) in Durbanville and should be open sometime in November (not sure about exact date).
