  1. I Hubbers, so about a year ago I bought a Rancilio Silvia and Rancilio bur grinder after using Nespresso pods for almost 5 years. With the help of fellow rubbers I dialed it in and what a revelation. The Nespresso usually go with us on holiday. Last week we did the Namakwa 4x4 echo route from Pella to Vioolsdrift. This was bare camping with no ablution facilities. For this trip I bought a moka pot and ground my beans. I used a gas stove and sort of dialed the moka pot in if you can use the term. I believe the moka pot delivers better coffee than the Nespresso. Anyone else here use a moka pot instead of a Nespresso machine?
  2. Hi Hubbers, I am in the market for a semi auto espresso machine like the Gaggia classic pro or the Rancillo Silvia. I am following some Facebook pages that I came by thanks to some hubbers. These machines seems to be as scarce as hen's teeth though. If anybody wants to upgrade or know of some machine somewhere please give me a shout. It is my new hobby for 2021 as life is just to short not to enjoy good coffee (and taking into account all the shiate going on nowadays. Cheers Joe
  3. I would like Dimension Date to do good in the tour and maybe take a few stage wins, however I think that will be hard now. What did bother me a bit, and I see nobody made a remark about that, is the fact that Mark could not stay on the 2 man lead out to the sprint. About 300m to go he dropped and the DD lead out did not see it. Few years back Marks lead outs were perfect. I think that last kick in the road caught Cav out and he did not have the legs to stay with his lead. Is Cav not in the form he was or did his lead go to hard to early (which I doubt)?
  4. Stage 1 pic is awesome. If I was Sabine it is surely one that would go on the wall. Pure determination.
  5. You made me think of this book we did in High School, in my Utopian world it reads: At the Cape Epic All cyclists are equal, but some cyclists are more equal than others. I get the feeling the best races for the avarage guy iare the new races before it gets to big and commercialised. I don't think the Epic will see me soon for R38k and that treatment.
  6. I liked the laid back attitude of Fumic and Avancini, especially those baggies. Although Sauser is doing a lot with his charity, I would like to see Nino in yellow. He is an animal today leading at the front. I had my doubts about Nino in the longer non technical stages, but so far he is looking good.
  7. Did not know that. I was under the impression that the rs1 was lighter. Good to know. I will hang on to my sid.
  8. Why is Nino not on a Rock Shox inverted shock. I thought this new shock was the bees knees??
  9. Cheers Gerry, found the updates about 10 seconds aftyer I posted
  10. I see the live stream on the epic website is behind. Where do you guys get live info from?
  11. Climbing has a lot to do with power to weight ratio. Naturaly men are a bit stronger than woman. Your wife is skinny, and if she can get a bit more strength in her legs and stay a bit longer in her lactate threshold she will be a better climber than flat rider. Remember on flats drafting helps a lot, on hills the true tests come. If I were you I would caution in doing to many hill repeats, it might make her hate hills even more. Also take caution re the heart rate monitor, sometimes it helps with the mental block when you see how high your heart rate is and there is still a lot of climbing left. I train with my heart rate monitor, but sometimes I don't race with my hr strap on. I would encourage my wife to do more big gear intervals, maybe a little bit of gym work and maybe a proteien shake to help with a bit of muscle. I know I might get flamed for the proetein thing as a lot of cyclists hate it, but your wife does not have a weight issue as most of us do. My 2c. Cheers
  12. Thanks guys, I will speak to my lbs. Herewith a pic of the frame. Cheers
  13. Hi guys, I recently bought a supersix frame from silverbird. I am 1.78m tall and my current frame is a 52 cm and to small for me. I have a decent ultegra groupset and decided to upgrade the frame and build all my components on my new frame. My old bike had the external threaded bb. This however is new territory for me, and now it seems that my cranks diameter is less than the pressfit BB. Do you guys know how I can fix this? Can I get a BB30 that will fit my crank? If I remember correctly my crank measures 25mm. If I do find a BB that fits, will there be other problems that might incur in the future? If it comes down to buying a new crank I will rather sell the frame and buy a new bike, and sell my old bike. Cheers
