  1. my Giant XTC carbon 1 was stolen end last year. its the one with the lumo yellow in the frame. also have lumo yellow bottle cages. Probably long gone anyways.
  2. did you report to the police? glad ur safe.
  3. winstrol & anavar are oral steriods (used for bodybuilding) and under the list of banned sustances in cycling. so i would suggest that you stay away from them and use normal energy drinks (USN, Cadence, etc)
  4. The 80km mtb race is an awesome route. The worst however is the first 2 climbs. The first climb being right at the start starting after only about 5km (but it's on tar and steep), then a nice long and cold decent and then when you least expect it, bam, one heavy, steep, long climb. From there is is beautiful. Climbs all being steady and with good surfaces. Probably the best race route i've ridden.
  5. My absolute favourate is Angels (for a harder & longer workout i do 5x8min climbs). For more race-like situations, i prefer Downward Spiral (mix of longer and shorter intervals). Busy downloading ISLAGIATT now. I'm addicted to these videos and look forward to jumping on the IDT each session.
  6. If you can give good bottomless coffee like Java cafe at a good price, then you will always attract cyclist. and having good looking students (female) walk by will DEFINATELY help.
  7. but i have to say, i like them a little less (only a small bit) because i didn't win the bike on monday
  8. i too, only have good things to say about Evobikes. always a pleasure to deal with.
  9. I recently had the displeasure of having to deal with the bullsh*t called DHL. I had to send shoes I bought in the US back for a replacement (wrong size). DHL was the cheapest at R1600 for a shoe box of 1.5kg. Anyways, I was not sure about a box i had to tick, permanent, refund etc (it makes a lot of sense now). I spoke to the woman at DHL on the phone and told her that i did not mark that section. She told me no worries, she will mark it as return. this means no paying taxes again when the shoes came back. Long story short, when the shoes came back customs wanted duties & taxes on the $450 shoes again because the woman filled the form as permanent. So customs thought it was a new purchase. Of course that same woman now don't remember anything about our phone call. After long talks with customs, they agreed to scratch the duties. But i still had to pay the R830 taxes. Very expensive experience with DHL
  10. No problem. I like bling so the shoes are as bling as I probably can get. And guess i won't get lost in the masses either.
  11. Unlike some people I see, i like to ride to the trails on my bike and not with my car. And seeing that I don't live right next to the mountains, i kinda have to use the road to get there.
  12. After having to wait months for the 2013 Sidi mtb shoes to be released, I finally got my new shoes. Was so worth the wait. Would have had to wait 2 more months for it to arrive in SA.
  13. bike and helmet looks unbelievably awesome. Great job
  14. a couple of years ago, i was attacked on the uphill there by cloetesville. 2 guys jumped in front of me and held a knife to my neck until i gave up my bike and cellphone. luckily a local saw everything and told the police who they were. ironically those exact 2 guys were released on bail 3 days before the incident for armed robery (even the police new them well). got my bike back but they "never" took my cellphone.
  15. go to 100percentpure.net they sell pure maltodextrin for R98 for a 2kg. very good product
  16. This is my XTC. I can honestly tell you that this bike is brilliant. by far the best money I have ever spend. You will NOT regret buying that Giant frame.
  17. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I had the same problem end of last year. Best is to take the 6 weeks off and forget about any training whatsoever. You'll be taking the risk of complicating things even further and might end up having to take even more time off. Take the time to spend quality time with your "better" half. I wasn't even allowed to do the Big Walk. Good luck with you recovery. I know how tough it is. PS. 1.5 months after I got back on the bike, I broke my wrist (another 6weeks of the bike)
  18. three lovely blondes, Michelle, Melanie & Crystal
  19. @ two hands: i broke my wrist a week ago so can't ride the race anymore. If you are interested you can have my entry for the 65km.
  20. I broke my wrist on saturday and can no longer ride the Argus MTB, will sell my entry. Don't really care if I make a loss.
  21. Provisional start times are: 13km – 08h20 29km – 07h30 32km – 07h50 52km – 07h20 65km – 07h00
  22. My best Agrus was a 2:37. My worst was in 2009 (with the wind). Rode a 4:26 with NOOOO training on a MTB
  23. Have a look at 100% Pure. https://www.100percentpure.net/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=32&zenid=d62b8aacf7a177f93dbe61ed2241b6e6 I've been using this and their protein for about a year and are very happy with their products. If i'm not mistaken, their warehouse/offices are in Montagu Gardens.
  24. PPA & CSA are two different organisations. You need to be a PPA member to get discount on PPA races (in the Western Cape) and get a bunch seeding. If you want to enter National or provincial races, then you need to have a CSA lisence (you need to belong to a club to get a CSA lisence).
  25. Sterns have quite a big range of Festina watches.
