  1. Stephanie Rice. Medley winner
  2. oh well, that's me out.
  3. Always thought I was alone in thinking that Whackhead Simpsons limited imagination had run out. Even Pieter Moller from OFM (Bloemfontein) is better than whackhead dipstick. But the KING has got to be Scott Mills from Radio1 in the UK. His call to the Scottish Pizza guy has got to be the all time classic. For those who haven't heard it try this link If you don't find this funny your either dead or Swiss.
  4. Santini. Also about R1k a pop. FANATASTIC. Not even a hint of a saddle sore.
  5. Yes you can. But as with everything related to the epic, its going to cost you (or whoever takes the ticket from you)a few rand. And the closer to race date you make the change, the more it'll cost. Check the Epic site for specific amounts and procedures.
  6. Still have FSA on my MTB (bought like that). I can't really tell the difference between between the 2 except at the till. TOKEN IS FANTASTIC VALUE. Would love to try the deep section wheels though.
  7. Got a set of their cranks on my TT bike. Fantastic. Highly recommend their goodies
  8. Stunning pics. I'm jealous! BTW waht do you mean the Simpson memorial is out of place? It's where he died isn't it? Quite appropriate really Considering the rabid aversion to drug taking these days is it appropriate to honour a cheat in this way. Just a thought.
  9. Did Marmotte Route but not part of the official race, but ran out daylight (and legs) so didn't finish with the Alp d Huez. Already planning to go back and do it next year. Hate the feeling of unfinished business. Possibly include the '09 e tap.Anybody else keen on going? Maybe we can put something together. Made some useful contacts while I was there.
  10. Last bit of Col de Galibier. A real "naastie" climb Looking back from top of Galibier at 2600m Approaching Mont Ventoux. Not as steep as Alp du Huez, but soooooo long. The fabled moonscape! We were lucky with little wind but "suffered like dogs" in the heat Tom Simpsons memorial. Bit out of place considering he wouldn't have died in the way he did if he hadn't been on the supplements Alp du Huez. If you're a cyclist then you have to ride it in your lifetime. And just as a matter of interest it cost me just over half of what I dropped on the epic for 10 days in France. PM me and I'll tell you how. And this is ME on the TT they have up Alp du Huez every Monday evening. I'm tasting blood and seeing Pink elephants
  11. Piper Arrow (T-tail)
  12. Thought this might be of interest to anybody having riden this wicked race. Just a different perspective on that little hill out of the Hell. Took this on my way home after last year's race. Sorry about the reflections.
  13. Anybody have any more outrageous locations
  14. Considering how it's speced, the Mongoose is unbelievably good value for money. And for a full suspension fantastically light. Same can be said for the Scott range. But slightly more expensive than the Goose.
  15. can give you all the distances and altitude gains. Can't help you with temps though (only temp at finish)
  16. 1 x Giant TCR composite(with Powercranks - the house of pain) 1 x Giant TCR Zero (liked the colours) 1 x Specialized S-Works epic (she's the chosen one) 1 x Giant XTC Team (4 epics on a hard tail was enough - retired now) 1 x Felt B2 Pro (still to new to tell - looks good though)
  17. My first post on the Hub, so quite keen to add my 2 cents worth. Rode the first 4 epic on V's and didn't have a second's problems. Rode this year's with discs. Juicy Ultimates, new pads and again didn't have any hassles. But much prefered the extra stopping power and control the discs give. Wouldn't go back to V's, but would go to great pains to properly maintain the discs.
