  2. PS: can you tell me what the arrangements are for riding at Killarney on Wedendays (I think) ??? saw some post about that, but I'm not the fighting kind
  3. Enjoy the ride, I might see you on the road around Suikerbossie - Seapoint, but I normally have to ride earlier so I can get back and get some work done , ah well such is life
  4. Why so late ? dont you have hassels with traffic between town and T/view ? I was hoping to find a group riding from Claremont area towards Capepoint and back but earlier (5.30 or so) so I dont become a statistic or a protest ride !!!! Still finding my around these parts. Do you ride this route every day ???
  5. Hi fellow Hubbers, I'm wondering if there are any groups doing early morning rides in the Peninsula area, I'm new to the area and stay in Claremont, looking for some company for some early morning training rides ?
  6. Definatly happens, what I've found that helps a lots is to increase your intake of vitamen C for a few weeks before the event by taking some Vit C booster or ascorbic acid tab once a day in addition to a good mulitvitamen program, having a Vitamen B shot a day or two before a tough events helps a lot, and if it a multistage event drinking some redydrate mix (sachet with 500ml water) each evening to top up your electolytes.
  7. This was my first DC (I relocated to the Cape recently), and I rode on a "social" team, I personally think that for most the current format of the DC is exactly the attraction and if this was changed the race would suffer for it. I would suggest that a team seeding be calculated for each team paricipating (by adding up the each team members seeding index). Then put in a cut-off point to allocate the top say 30 or 50 teams as "Racing teams" - let these teams start first and then start the rest of the field. By the time the "social" teams arrive at the normal stations all the racing teams will be through there will be less conflict both at the stations and on the road. My 2cents worth but I think if the race format where drasticaly cahnged it would see a serious drop in the number of entrants and sponsors, I think the format is what makes the race so popular. and hey,.....impose serious fines or DQ teams that litter and or abuse the support car roles. (the bike marshals could possibly fill that role !!)

  9. An excellent idea, one that needs to be communicated to every Cycling club and/or group in the Western Cape.
  10. Bunch of idiots. Get a life.
  11. I am actually Tjokkits, but since the middle of May the password for Tjokkits will just not work.. Ihave tried the "forgot password" option, get no email back, now as a last resort reregisterred in a diffirent name and PMed ADMIN to help, but no response or joy. ADMIN why dont you help, how can I get my Tjokkits back?
  12. Had a chance to ride a friends NRS two weeks ago, I normally ride a Merida hardtain, not sure of model but it was a carbon frame, full suspension, fox shock - It was an awesome bike to ride. Did some talking to some Mtb'ers in the know (being a ignorant roadie) and it is a highly recommended bike - I know that Bruce Reyneke keep praising this bike, even over newer bikes.

  14. I'll let them know - no more drafting behind the ladies bunch for you
