  1. Thanks , had a look. Some super deals. By the time we pay Vat (15%) and all the import duties(40%) into SA on delivery its no longer that good of a deal.
  2. I have 3 Pairs of these ZF2 FK that I rotate, all on about 800kms now but getting near the end of life. I forefoot strike so I can start to almost see the plate coming through at one point now Best Training shoe Nike have ever made IMHO, was so Pissed when they stopped selling them. The new ZF3 is not on the same level. I'm 500kms into a pair and still cant find the same comfort levels as the ZF2. and they hurt my Achilles. If I could find old ZF2 FK anywhere id stock up again.. so let me know if anyone knows a Rabbit hole I haven't checked.
  3. He is tapering now for US Olympic Marathon Trials on the 29th Feb.. sure he will take an easy few weeks after that , and then Build properly for Comrades..
  4. This... they have the R1bar Record Incentive on their website but wont commit to it happening when they have been asked..
  5. Yeah sorry , only saw that now catching up WRT Oceans, well that would be a balls up... Silver is tough enough over 56km's (or the 56.3km's it normally is), if it was exactly 58km's id probably have a small chance on a perfect day based on my 3h50 last year.... But if it did go that way, I think Id change all plans for a 4h30-4h40 58km Training run.. Will be a proper cock up though and for me personally it will be my 7th and last Oceans. Loskop Ultra is a Great day out and was only ever trumped by the beauty of Oceans (Both Oceans).
  6. Late to the Party, BUT he ran 12.51 not 13.51 Thus why Baderleys 13.48 Park Run "Could" be legit
  7. Cascadia is a Good shoe but very very Chunky and heavy For something lighter and faster I would go with the Pure Grit or Caldera if I had to buy in the Brooks Trail range. see link below to some decent specials https://brooksrunning-sa.co.za/men-trail-running-shoes/
  8. Quite amusing... I'm pretty sure those Disclaimers didn't appear on any of his anti Nike rants until he was called out yesterday on it.
  9. RT is a very one sided, one trick pony of late... and accordingly to a Tweet yesterday he is financially involved with Adidas.. so It pays him to bash the Nike technology.. literally Want a Good Fair look at how it came about and what would have happened even if Nike were completely transparent see below all the Time Nike were doing R&D no-one cared.. when they eventually found the Golden formula/Mix between Foam/Carbon and Stack height and released a World Beating Shoe... everyone went nuts.. https://www.outsideonline.com/2408971/nike-vaporfly-controversy#close
  10. Wasn't Far off.... Only Change is 40mm and not 36.... and now Nike will redevelop the Alphafly down to 40mm and release them in March.... This was a win win win for Nike...
  11. Not at all, there is mass hysteria and panic even on the Nike 4% Facebook page. Those were just my thoughts, again I could be wrong. The Guardian ran an article today saying they wont be banned... but who knows.. apparently an announcement will be made by IAAF at Month end
  12. Correct, If you live your Life off the "Daily mail "and "The Sun" you will still believe in fairies and the Sasquatch
  13. IMHO it wont happen... Too many record Books to rewrite now over the last 3 years I would bank they put a peg in the sand at 36mm Stack height.. This would leave the Vaporfly 4% and the Next% right on range (31- 36mm) But never let the Alphafly (Klipchoge's sub2 shoe) which is 46odd come to Market. (from memory, give or take a mm or 2) This will cover all their bases as Kipchoges sub2 was never recognized anyway Too many Companies have now done 3yrs R&D on carbon Racers to just scrap it all now. Also the Carbon has never been the main issue, stack height is. Could be wrong but those are my Thoughts.
  14. One of the Few perks of not immigrating
  15. Point to Point is not the issue with races not being ratified. Its often more the drop in elevation or the distance from start to finish as the crow flies Although looking at Yesterdays course Map attached the start and finish must be very close to "more " than 50% course distance. Rule B... Pretty sure they know what they doing though.. See IAAF rules below IAAF Rule 260.28 The IAAF now recognises World Records in road races for thefollowing distances: 10km; 15km; 20km; Half Marathon; 25km;30km; Marathon (42.195km); 100km; Road Relay (Marathon distance only). IAAF Rule 260 states that the following criteria with regard to the course must be complied with in order for a World Road Record to be ratified: a.The course must be measured by one or more “A” or “B” grade IAAF/AIMS approved measurers. b.The start and finish points of a course, measured a long a theoretical straight line between them, shall not be further apart than 50% of the race distance. c.The overall decrease in elevation between the start and finish shall not exceed 1:1000, i.e. 1m per km (0.1%). d.Any course measurer who originally measured the course or another “A” or “B” grade measurer in possession of the complete measurement data and maps must validate that the course measured was the course run, normally by riding in the lead vehicle. e.The course must be verified (i.e. re-measured) as late as possible before the race, on the day of the race or as soon as practical after the race, preferably by a different “A” grade measurer from any of those who did the original measurement. Note: If the course was originally measured by at least two “A” grade or one “A” and one “B” grade measurers, and at least one of them is present at the race to validate the course as per Rule 260.28(d), no verification (re-measurement) under this Rule 260.28(e) will be required. f.World Records in Road Running Events set at intermediate distances within a race must comply with the conditions set under Rule 260. The intermediate distances must have been measured and marked during the course measurement and must have been verified in accordance with Rule 260.28(e). g. For the Road Relay, the race shall be run in stages of5km, 10km, 5km, 10km, 5km, 7.195km. The stages must have been measured and marked during the course measurement with a tolerance of ± 1% of the stage distance and must have been verified in accordance with Rule 260.28(e).
  16. A lot them made themselves unavailable for selection for Various Reasons. Some just weren't selected for at all for other previous agendas/reasons. Gerda is racing New York city marathon again later in the year.
  17. Nothing like a Maluti or 6 after spending 7hours in the mountains.. Will be my 3rd , Love that weekend
  18. Just did some strava stalking on Bennie Roux So firstly looks like the laps were actually around 4.5kms for the runners (actually 4.45-4.54ish on average). He has each lap as a separate workout which helps, started the first about 10 laps around 5.50-6min per km.... did a few slower ones in the night with slowest at 10min per km... then sped back up to 6s near the end and his last one at5.10per km. Elevation per lap at 24m. So most laps he was done just on 30mins with 30mins to rest before going again. Pretty crazy endurance.. in a way a 10km lap every 2nd hour and an hour rest might make it slightly easier from a sleep deprivation point of view..
  19. Is pretty insane, but wasn't quite as far as that. Laps for the runners were just on 5kms As I know Ian who was 2nd runner did exactly 100 miles - 160kms and that was 32 laps. So Bennie closer to 185kms. See the top 3 cyclists all got to 60hours - 60 laps - 600kms and then had to do a Speed lap to decide the winner which turned into a 3 way sprint finish at 7pm last night. Insane Rumour has it there might be a similar event in October nearer Delta Park side.
  20. Personally My Favourite is Wanderers, but I now run for them so I can no longer run it. From a Difficulty point of view none are flat but Wanderers and Old Eds are similar in Vertical ascent/difficulty. Id say Gerald Fox is a little more hilly than those 2. Adrienne Hersh is the toughest course of the 4 by far.
  21. I don't but also planning on doing it.. Knowing Graham Block from Runzone though its not going to be flat
  22. Yeah then it will record the full time from start to the final stop and save as that 10km effort If you now save your run as a "Race" it will give you the Full time as Opposed to the "Moving time" it does for a training run Garmin Connect files show it as the "Total Time", "Moving time " and " Elapsed Time"
