  1. Not even Transition themselves will know...they have only produced mediums up to now. But here's another pic of the medium. ( The best I can do for now.)
  2. THE DUSTIN RUDMAN INVITATIONAL
  3. You're living in GP now...right? Are you joining us at 139 on the 22nd and 23rd?
  4. Greg was playing golf with Dale Steyn, and Gwin was riding a motorbike down a mountain somewhere....that's how Loic finally got his win.
  5. It depends on your skillset. If you have average skills: 140mm - 160mm on 26" and 650B. 120mm to 140mm on 29ers. The head angle is also very important. On slacker head angles you can just about get away with 120mm, especially on 29ers. If you have insane skills, any bike would do.
  6. Looking at these pics there is no way I'll be able to ride this clipless. Better start practicing on flats.
  7. The way I see it: Retailers and distributors should price their products so that there is no way that someone can legally bring in that product themselves for a better price. If there is a small premium for the conveniance of purchasing the product locally, and supplying warranty support etc., that's fine. But if you price your products out of context, you will be found out. ( Sometimes, like in the case of the WFO, it's a calculation mistake.....I think?) Obviously the bigger retailers like CRC get their products at much better prices than most, if not all of the local guys, and that gives them the option to mark their stuff down to ridiculously low prices. It is impossible for the local retailers to compete with that. For example: CRC retails a Rockshox Reverb for less than the wholesale price locally. Generally speaking, the local distributors and retailers are not out to get us. Their margins are actually below the retail industry's averages. So, yes if some Internet retailer have a sale, you will pick up some bargains, but the local prices are generally spot on. If you want to moan about prices take on the restaurant industry: 300-400% mark up.
  8. No, most US Internet retailers will only charge sales tax if you purchase the item for delivery in their state. Washington in this case. They"ll add the tax afterwards, so the amount you see on Fanatik, Competitive or Jenson is ex-vat.
  9. How do you get to that? In all due respect, The Hub is the only place where people work on a R10 = 1 USD. On this forum it is also possible to magically get products here without paying shipping ( 3 to 10% of goods value), 10% customs vat or 14 % vat. If you bring in a complete bike as you have to do , ( a lot of the Internet retailers will not disassemble a bike and ship it in two separate boxes) , you can add another 15 %. So the cheapest Evil Following on special at Fanatikbikes: 5829$. Working on the exange rate of R12,35. (What the bank will charge me today), adding shipping, custom's Vat etc. equals R 91 627,00. ( Excluding 15% import duty) Even if you smuggle the bike in via your airline luggage, it is still R72 000,00. OR you can use the Hub's formula: 5829 x 10. = R58290,00
  10. I've got the pricelist from the distributor (niner.co.za), and I must agree something is not right with their calculations. The pricing you have seems more realistic. R26K to R29K is about right for something that retails at 2099$.

  12. So, don't shoot the messenger but my initial guesstimate was not far of: WFO frame only: R37 775. WFO 3 Star build : R61 900.
  13. I apologize, I forgot the fact that the WFO is a Alu frame...
  14. Nico, you are probably going to look at around R60k for that bike. The frame only option is around R40k.
  15. Your first post ever was on this thread....Why didn't you just call yourself Juma?
  16. https://vimeo.com/127649654
  17. I spoke to them last year before the race...Guess how many of my suggestions they listened to? Hint: About the same amount as the money that went back to the Spruit. If you are not happy about the criticism of your product, don't advertise it on the Hub. We are experts at criticizing everything and everybody.
  18. Yeah, you're right...but at least you got my point.
  19. And seriously addictive. Hook this up with Farmtrader and start designing your own Bikeparks.
  20. There goes the rest of your work day....the part not spent on the Hub.
  21. Well said, but:We did not get one extra meter of singletrack out of Juma. If the Juma race route was an "out and back" route, using most of the Spruit to the other side of Witkoppen you'll be looking at closer to 70 km. ( using extra sections like Melville Koppies, Albert's Farm ect.) This route will add at least 20km of singletrack with new sections being build on the opposite side of the Spruit, esspecially on the Bryanston stretch. It will eliminate all the bottlenecks, and give us something to ride on after the race. But unfortunately the organizers are not riders themselves, so they planned a route under the misconception that steel ramps and concrete tunnels are value adding obstacles. Value is what you leave behind after the race, not what you put in your pockets. Go play on Bikeroutetoaster, you'll see what I mean
  22. What upgrades? Are you talking about the 1 meter wide bridge that was widened to 2 meters? I would much rather see the 2000 (+) x R400 go into the Spruit Fairy's account. Imagine what the Spruit would look like if we give the builders R800K+! If you really care about the Spruit you'll pitch for the build days and give NE the money you'll spend on this badly planned race. The guys who organized this race doesn't even ride...They just saw a bunch of soft targets to make money off. Juma does nothing for mountainbiking in Johannesburg. If you race at a place like VG, you know that some of your entry fee goes to the long term maintenance and development of the trails. You cannot say the same of Juma. If you want to have fun, go to the Enduro races at Hakahanna...the beer is cheaper, and the Jagermeister is free!
