  1. But yes, Philip. If this was a driver intervention, it was an incredibly good one. I think, though, that this was likely Volvo's safety system kicking in with its emergency stop feature. And yeah, the full truck and trailer braking systems are bloody superb.
  2. And this is why I believe autonomous driving is the future.
  3. The only way we'll know definitively is if the guys decide to ride bikes from a different era at each race. Having said that, there'd still be a factor of bias in the results as each bike has a different style and each rider has a different style, suited to one or another bike, even in the same era. Stick Rossi on a Honda or a modern Duc now, and see what happens. Stick MM on a Yamma or a Duc or a Suzie, and see what happens.
  4. HAve a look at the difference in cornering styles over the years, thanks to the enhancements in grip and lean levels. On the big smokers, they were mostly on the seat pad, just leaning a little bit. It got progressively lower, and lower and lower and now they're hanging their arses off the side so low that MM can actually use his knees and elbows to save a front end slide. It's ridiculous, but amazing. Totally different riding styles, and totally different machines. VR is the only one to have been there throughout the metamorphosis.
  5. It's arse about face, IMO. Apparently the rand cost saving at 67% was already higher than the 75% on single club memberships so they didn't think an extra discount was warranted. coughBULLSHITcough Or at least that's the reason that was continually given to me

  7. Yep, still as per the above. Taken from the marketing material "Save up to 75% on your monthly gym fees and boost your savings up to 100% with Gym Booster" Up to 75% depending on visits over a rolling year and whether premier or single club membership. Up to 100% on gym booster with single club membership only.
  8. From what I remember, and AFAIK it hasn't changed (unless they snuck something in and haven't told us and didn't sort it at the training sessions) it's as such: Initial 75% discount on single gym membership Goes to 100% based on Gym Booster If you fall below 36 annual visits, base discount goes to 50% until such time as you have 36 visits in a rolling year. Initial Premier membership discount is 67% No Gym Booster applies to Premier If you fall below 36 annual visits on premier, you get dropped to 50% until such time as you have 36 visits in a rolling year. No changes, as far as I'm aware. Not sure where VA gets their 50% from.
  9. Still part of it... so why not keep it in the familia? Oh, and he will be in GP soon enough. That boy isn't gonna stay in 2 for long.
  10. yeah. Also - Rossi is here to stay. Even when he stops racing, which will probably only happen when he's 176 years old. His mentorship program and team ownership si stacking up a bloody fantastic spectrum of racers. Did you see the Moto3 race?! That junior World Champ... Joh. And then the current WC. What a CLASS ACT!!!
  11. Best character in it is Ramsay Bolton dude. Otherwise it's just..... meh.
  12. 100% agreed with the bold. Actually, agreed with everything. DP was excellent. JZ just needs to calm down a bit, I think. But then he's still in his rookie year, so.... MM is showing to be a true Alien.
  13. Even taking into consideration the above. He received a direct order, multiple times, over 2 races. He was not in title contention. It's Duc's call, not his.
  14. Defeated MotoGP title contender Andrea Dovizioso says he didn't feel he was held up by Ducati team-mate Jorge Lorenzo in the Valencia season finale. In a race he had to win to stand any chance of beating Marc Marquez to the title, Dovizioso crashed out on lap 25 of 30, just a handful of corners after Lorenzo had fallen. The pair ran fourth and fifth for the majority of the race, as Marquez settled into second place behind leader Johann Zarco, with Lorenzo seemingly holding up Dovizioso. After a number of laps of running in formation, Lorenzo was given the coded 'Suggested Mapping 8' instruction on his dashboard, which was later followed by a '-1' and a downwards-pointing arrow on his pitboard. However, Dovizioso said he was happy for Lorenzo to lead him during the race, and said he wouldn't have been fast enough to catch the leaders even if the Spaniard had moved over. "I'm happy because we tried until the end, and it was open until 10 laps to the end," Dovizioso told BT Sport. "We improved during the weekend, but we weren't fast enough. I was really on the limit from the first lap. "At the beginning I wanted to overtake Jorge, but in some corners I was slower, at the end he created a good pace. "It was good for me to follow him, I could stay with them, but we were over the limit the whole race. We both did a mistake. "We have to be happy, happy about the championship." Marquez ended up finishing third behind Dani Pedrosa and Zarco after a major scare at Turn 1 at the start of lap 24, almost crashing and running deep into the gravel trap. Asked what went through his mind when he saw Marquez almost crash out ahead of him, Dovizioso replied: "We are not surprised about that! This is a standard thing for Marc. "But I didn't have the speed to really attack the riders in front of me. When I saw I was like 'OK!' but I was completely finished. "I tried even harder, when I saw that, but I already pushed 100% until that time."
  15. 100% Lorenzo just continues to show his lack of class.
  16. Ja, sadly. Largely depends where you get them, but it's duur. As is steak....
