Sommer poeggai ! Have just retuned from a charity shop in Melville that " specialises " in the rescue of cats. What a royal life these fortunate animals have. Sad part is , whenever ( regularly ) I visit this shop , there is always a discussion of cat families being dumped or abandoned. Makes one furious and heart sore.

Slight slant to topic , sorry . I am finishing off the restoration of a vintage car , and need to replace rubber door seals , etc. and are therefore looking for a supplier of same in the Jhb ( Westrand area ) . Tried the Google route without success . I lost the bussiness card of the dealer that displayed his goods at the swap meeting at The Pistongring Club.Please help.

Good (?) but sad story . On News24 . Dog run over . Netcare paramedics flaged down by bystanders . but ambulancen is on it's way to emergency . Paramedic calls in for another ambulance which takes it Roodekruin Animal Clinic . RAC tried their best but injuries too severe and is put down.

I know that paying zillions of Rs for dogs has been debated . However I still feel that nothing gives one more pleasure than adopting a dog from one of the rescue shelters. We had to " put down " one of our rescues resently and all that was lost ( if ever ) was our mutual love and affection. Her replacement just fills another void in our lifes.

Well done. I think there are some Hubbers that also need some mention as their input helped make this site what it is , albeit sometimes controversial.

Flip , it is stunning. Pitty the BMW factory don't support the Superbike racers. Pees me off watching SBK races , BMW never feature and is at the bottom of the Manufactures Results for all practical purposes.BMW started with such a BANG , but lost the plot fast. BMW Factory obviously doing too well world wide with their offroad machines.

Doing what is best for my best friend is really my dilemma. The Vet is not very helpful , although he is very sympathetic. He feels that I know my buddy best , and should respond accordingly. Thanks for the replies. Odd that sharing my problem with Hubbers " helps" , albeit that sympathy was not the objective.

Please help with some advice. My lab ( Sasha ) suffers from an ailment referred to as Spirocerca Lupi . After receiving very expensive medication , X-rays , Vets fees , etc . she is still very ill and fading away. She hardly eats , vomits a lot of slime with traces of blood. The Vet recons there is no more he can do for her. It troubles me deeply to make a decision to rid this beautiful loving animal of her life. Whenever I thinks it is time to take this dreadfull decision , she wags her tail as if to say , " thank you for letting me live ". I am not keeping her alive for my own benefit and I don't want her to suffer. The Vet is of the opinion that posible cancer treatment could extend her live somewhat , but the quality could be questionable.

I remember when these were introduced in RSA , and one " motoring journalist " wrote-off the R100k car . Yes , that was a lot of money in those days. My 318I cost less than R30k. The BMW dealer ( Club Motors or Auto Baveria ) parked the wreck in their workshops and tried to forget about it .I dont recall the " journalist " ever doing a motoring report again .
