  1. I see the bike is also facing the wrong way and I posted it twice. Ah well , what do you expect on a Friday. Enjoy your rider over the weekend - mud and all
  2. My pride and passion , although it is about 5 years old. . I suppose it is not an Enduro by today's standards
  3. My pride and passion , although it is about 5 years old. . I suppose it is not an Enduro by today's standard
  4. I have the same problem on my motorcycle ( on various motorcycles , for the past ? years ) . The problem mainly occurs when I get going from fuel stations. Sometimes I need to ride a complete circle to avoid turning to the right hand side .
  5. I hope I am talking to the right person : how is Emily doing ?
  6. All expert " inputs " assume that we are all " top 10 " riders , with the only variance being the wheel size. I have both a 26er ( 2 ) and a 29er. However, my main obstacle remains FITNESS , or the lack thereof .Wheel size , for me , is very academic and I assume the same for most weekend warriers.
  7. Oeps . It must be spelt/spelled " GAY "
  8. I did and guess what ? She introduced me to you, my mighty Engel Of Spelling Where you guy on the Marida ?
  9. No matter what your religious outlook might be , there has to be a Gardian Engel of Stupidity. Saw a guy on a Marida (? ) yesterday afternoon 4.30p.m. on the N1 heading west in peak traffic where 4 + 2 lanes flows into 4 , only to split again into 2 + 4 lanes. In short, the traffic is chaos and at speed. I panic every day on my motorcycle when I pass this section. The chap was fully kitted ( appart from a brain ) and did not seem to reaslise the situation. I doubt if he would read the article ( if he is still alive ) but i had to share it.
  10. It was not a sting. They only arrested him because he was riding without a helmet.
  11. What has happened to/with CWCycles. They used to be " in your face " on the Hub with specials. Was one of the reasons I clicked onto the Hub countless times a day . Maybe it was a free ride for adverts ? Sorry if this is an unpaid ad.
  12. My son and I went to Heia Safari yesterday, just to find out from Management that cycling was not allowed for the day as the place was reserved for the Jepp Warrior Event ( ?). After some " chit chat " with said Management , we were allowed on same parts of the property and we did not have to pay any fees. My real rant is about the Sterk Manne ( the Warriors ) that had no respect for the environment. As I got out of the car , I stepped into the sh*t packed in a disposable nappy. The Warrior parked next to me chucked a banana peel in no particular direction , as I tried to dislodge the cr*p from my shoe. A good stare from my was met with a " wat the F*k kyk jy " look . The guy was twice my size and I left it at that. On our return, we found the whole parking area littered with booze ( ? ) bottles and other junk. Not a good advert. for a Jeep sponsered event.
  13. I have a monthly debit order on my bank account as a donation to FORA ( Friends Of Rescued Animals ) This story has made me increase it by 50 % . I am posting this not to try and score some points , but maybe it will motivate other Hubbers to do the same.
  14. Many thanks all. As as sent the first post , I noticed CARBONRED's advert on the hub as well , and made contact with Richard. Very quick response from him.
  15. The company I work for has agreed to sponsor me with cycling kit ( tops ?). It will consist of 2 tops for 2 riders .The web sites of potential suppliers I tried are not user friendly. How do I go about it ?
  16. Waarna kyk hy ?? Weet ook. Ek weet net hy gaan sy G*t sien !
  17. This seems to be a common problem with the Scott 9... range , with bearings failing , etc. There should be a RECALL as you find with cars . I also have a Scott 940 and do not want to visit my LBS after every race/training ride.
  18. I am sure this has been dicussed before. ( Sorry ) I have just returned from the Doc. He is unhappy with the Glucose results from the lab., altough me daily measured count ( fasting ) is okey . I am generally a "good boy " other than consuming regular energy drinks/bar ( and maybe patatoes ) when training/racing. My thoughts were that said intake whould be in and out the system before casing any harm. With respect to my Doc. By the way , I am of Master Class age.
  19. Wow. Maybe this is how I met my wife or got my first kiss ! Question is..........did it mow the lawn ? Ha Ha
  20. Many thanks for the link . Simple but complicated to demonstrate. How about the brakes ? Was it just the " complession " of ones legs pushing against the enertia of the forward moverment ?
  21. I cummute in my motorcycle every day. I find the taxy drivers very accommodating . Very unlike the Rum-n-Coke okes in their 4x4's or the Tannies texting wile "driving"
  22. Back in the day of three speed Stermy Archer gears , said gears operated within the hub. Is that correct ? If so , how did it work in layman's terms. Also the brakes that operated by back pedaling ?? No friction pads. Or is my memory going with age ( the same way is the DIKWIEL ?? )
  23. Will there be an event at Krugersdorp Natutre Reserve this year ? Search on web useless.
  24. I have a Raleigh road bike ( M ? ) that is approx 30 years old that needs a good home. It was never used during this period , but is stored in a tool shed. Had it serviced recently including new tyres. Missing saddle bag and chrome fenders . Normal wear and tear of a unloved bike in storage. Free to anyone with proof of small donation to FORA .Collect Roodepoort, West Rand Area
