  1. This seems to be a common problem with the Scott 9... range , with bearings failing , etc. There should be a RECALL as you find with cars . I also have a Scott 940 and do not want to visit my LBS after every race/training ride.
  2. I am sure this has been dicussed before. ( Sorry ) I have just returned from the Doc. He is unhappy with the Glucose results from the lab., altough me daily measured count ( fasting ) is okey . I am generally a "good boy " other than consuming regular energy drinks/bar ( and maybe patatoes ) when training/racing. My thoughts were that said intake whould be in and out the system before casing any harm. With respect to my Doc. By the way , I am of Master Class age.
  3. Wow. Maybe this is how I met my wife or got my first kiss ! Question is..........did it mow the lawn ? Ha Ha
  4. Many thanks for the link . Simple but complicated to demonstrate. How about the brakes ? Was it just the " complession " of ones legs pushing against the enertia of the forward moverment ?
  5. I cummute in my motorcycle every day. I find the taxy drivers very accommodating . Very unlike the Rum-n-Coke okes in their 4x4's or the Tannies texting wile "driving"
  6. Back in the day of three speed Stermy Archer gears , said gears operated within the hub. Is that correct ? If so , how did it work in layman's terms. Also the brakes that operated by back pedaling ?? No friction pads. Or is my memory going with age ( the same way is the DIKWIEL ?? )
  7. Will there be an event at Krugersdorp Natutre Reserve this year ? Search on web useless.
  8. I have a Raleigh road bike ( M ? ) that is approx 30 years old that needs a good home. It was never used during this period , but is stored in a tool shed. Had it serviced recently including new tyres. Missing saddle bag and chrome fenders . Normal wear and tear of a unloved bike in storage. Free to anyone with proof of small donation to FORA .Collect Roodepoort, West Rand Area
  9. Def. not Discovery . Don't agree with a previous post. You DON'T get what jou pay for, regardless of your option. The Discovery representatives and the reps. from their agent , AON, are TOTALLY useless , unapproachable and uncontactable.
  10. Wayne from Chris Willemse had me sorted with Easton rims that I sourced from them . About R850 later.
  11. Wonder how this will affect the Piston Ring Car Club ? The club house is also on the AECI grounds. Sorry if this is slightly off topic.
  12. I had the reverse problem with EASTON wheels that I bought from CWC. The wheels were equiped for a 15mm tru-axle and I needed a QR option. Wayne, from CWC , were extremely helpfull in sourcing the required adapter. If you look at the EASTON wheels website , there is a video showing the procedures to help you with your conversion. Seems easy enough.
  13. This is not a Rant or Rave. I ordered the Easton EA70 XC wheelset from CWC. Discovered that the front wheel uses Tru Axle. I needed QR to match my fork. CWC said I could return wheels. Howerver , Hubbers informed me that an adapter is available. I informed CWC accordingly. The said adapter was delivered in good time. HOWEVER the adaptor did not include the QR scewer. Im I unfair to have expected this ?
  14. Many thanks to all for their replies. Will follow up with my LBS
  15. In my haste to buy Easton EA70 wheels from CWC, I , upon opening up the boxes realized that the front wheel did not have a QR. CWC informed me that it uses a Tru- Axle and that this combination will not work on my Rockshock but I can return the wheels. However, I do not fully comprehend the set-up. Is there some solution to the problem in the form of an adaptor ?
